Transcript [00:00] [Music] [00:04] it was the am dial that we turned on to [00:06] get our weather updates to tell us when [00:08] to head to the basement of course we [00:10] were in the midwest so we headed to the [00:11] porch to look at the tornado but but but [00:14] AM radio was the place to go to and and [00:16] look I remember listening to AM radio as [00:18] that young 15-year-old on the tractor [00:20] out in the field as well and my [00:22] grandfather certainly listened to we [00:23] listened to it every day as we did [00:24] chores in the morning to hear the a [00:26] report so Americans depend on AM radio [00:29] it's a strong formats a strong backing I [00:32] think we've made that case to the autom [00:33] manufacturers I think we have that case [00:36] made in Congress now we just need to do [00:38] the rest of the administrative process [00:39] and get this bill move through and get [00:42] AM radio moving forward and [00:48] protected itb's mission is twofold to [00:51] protect the Free Speech rights of their [00:53] members to speak biblical Truth by [00:55] advocating those rights in governmental [00:57] corporate and media sectors and Foster [01:00] Excellence integrity and accountability [01:02] in their membership by providing [01:04] networking educational Ministry and [01:07] relational opportunities hi and welcome [01:09] to this edition of mids South Viewpoint [01:11] here on the bot radio network and today [01:13] we welcome the president and CEO of [01:16] National Religious broadcasters Troy [01:18] Miller Troy welcome to bot radio network [01:20] here in Memphis well thank you for [01:22] having me today I appreciate it and [01:23] you're just in our neighboring City [01:25] there in Nashville and I think you told [01:27] me it's kind of sunny and the weather's [01:28] pretty nice right now yeah it's a [01:30] beautiful day here in Nashville the [01:32] sun's out and it's a nice 72 degre so uh [01:35] we're hoping that this means the spring [01:37] is in and Summer's on the way I'm [01:39] telling you what that's what I'm looking [01:40] forward to well Troy you know back in [01:42] February at the annual National [01:45] Christian convention the media [01:46] convention that krb host each year was [01:48] the 80th anniversary now I'm not [01:51] insinuating that you're 80 years old but [01:53] this was a big celebration for nrb it [01:55] was a big celebration uh uh yeah though [01:58] I wasn't around at the beginning but nrb [02:00] started back in [02:01] 1944 when a group of broadcasters [02:04] pastors wanted to be on radio and be [02:06] broadcasters and have their programs to [02:07] share the gospel and another group said [02:10] nah we want to decide and nrb came [02:12] together to protect the rights of [02:14] independent broadcasters radio producers [02:17] program producers and now of course [02:19] we're in the digital age we do that for [02:21] folks on the internet and uh just [02:23] anybody who's really interest chesting [02:24] Communications that's what we're all [02:25] about yeah well I had the pleasure of [02:27] meeting your wife Mara at this year's [02:29] convention [02:30] at our bot radio network breakfast and [02:32] she is a delight I know why you married [02:34] her well they say it's true behind uh [02:37] every good man as a wife who really does [02:39] all the work and she's great she [02:41] supports me in this especially since nrb [02:43] uh uh these days takes me all over the [02:45] country and around the world Troy you [02:47] have some connection with one of our [02:48] neighboring states Mississippi where we [02:50] broadcast into back in 83 to 88 you [02:54] spent some time there at the naval [02:55] engineering command at Eng Les Shipyard [02:57] in Pascagoula Mississippi you remember [03:00] those days boy you guys have done your [03:01] homework that's a that's a long time ago [03:03] that sure takes me back yeah Engles [03:05] Shipyard was one of the Premier ship [03:07] builders for the US Navy they were [03:09] building US Navy egis cruisers at the [03:11] time and the ship the USS Bunker Hill [03:14] was uh under construction and uh we were [03:17] down there for about a year and a half [03:18] while that ship got built so yeah that's [03:21] uh that's really good it was a great [03:23] time we loved it down in Mississippi you [03:25] know I got to see the USS Kitty Hulk and [03:27] the independence Fiers when we were [03:29] missionaries with Transworld radio back [03:30] in the mid 90s those ships made their [03:33] stop on the island and boy you don't [03:36] realize how incredibly big some of the [03:37] ships can be oh they're massive [03:39] especially the aircraft carriers are you [03:41] know uh appropriately called floating [03:44] cities you know these these have [03:45] anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 Sailors on [03:48] them uh and when you add the fleet of [03:50] support around them uh these cities as [03:53] you said you can have a good group of [03:55] about 8 to 10,000 Sailors pull in in one [03:57] day that's right well in addition Troy [03:59] to you having just a lot of business [04:02] experience and background you served as [04:04] the Executive Vice President and Chief [04:06] Operating Officer for djames Kennedy [04:08] Ministries that must have been a [04:09] blessing it was a real blessing for me [04:12] um back in my Navy days again after [04:14] Engle Shipyard um our ship ended up in [04:18] 1987 The Bunker Hill which I was [04:20] attached to then ended up in the Persian [04:22] Gulf doing uh the taker escorts back [04:25] when the Iranians were threatened to [04:27] shut down the oil traffic there and uh I [04:29] have had a grandmother who got saved in [04:31] the 1970s she looked at her family as [04:33] her first mission field she watched uh [04:36] religious television every week that's [04:38] all she watched and uh she watched this [04:40] preacher out of Fort Lauderdale D James [04:42] Kennedy and she ordered a book of his [04:44] called why I believe and she sent it to [04:45] her grandson of the Navy and it was [04:47] instrumental of bringing both me and my [04:49] wife to Christ so to go work for him was [04:51] just a just a dream come true what a [04:54] beautiful story Troy great story of [04:56] God's grace the way he works in our life [04:58] for salvation through price what a great [05:00] word well we're here today to talk about [05:02] something that's very important to [05:04] really not just the National Religious [05:06] broadcasters but really to our bot radio [05:08] network listeners we want to talk about [05:10] this AM radio for every vehicle Act of [05:13] 2023 it was Senate Bill 1669 it was [05:16] introduced in the senate in May of last [05:19] year the bill requires the Department of [05:21] Transportation to issue a rule that [05:23] requires all new motor vehicles to have [05:25] devices that can access am broadcast [05:28] station installed as standard equipment [05:30] and it continues on here we don't have [05:32] to go into all the details but that's [05:34] really at bottom line what we want to [05:35] talk about today and I know that you've [05:37] been quite involved in this particular [05:39] issue before we go there you were first [05:42] elected as president and CEO of the [05:44] National Religious broadcasters back in [05:46] 2022 you have seen the importance of the [05:49] work nrb does through Christian Media [05:51] how have you seen it become clear to you [05:53] from the day you first were elected as [05:55] president well yeah that's a great [05:57] question you know I I've been since I uh [06:00] went to work for Dr Kennedy in 1999 I've [06:02] been in the Christian Media Christian [06:05] Ministry uh sector so I worked for him [06:07] for six and a half years our ministry [06:09] had both television and radio program [06:12] that we produced and and later on also [06:14] producing for streaming over the [06:16] internet and then for 18 years leaning [06:19] up to coming over to nrb I was the chief [06:22] executive officer president of [06:24] nrbtv uh an affiliate group so we have [06:27] been uh an associating with nrb for at [06:30] least 20 years so the work that nrb does [06:33] um is important to broadcasters because [06:35] not not only just the what the [06:37] government does in general in into [06:40] making sure all of our broadcasters know [06:41] what all the regulations are what they [06:43] have to do to make sure they maintain [06:45] compliance to keep their FCC license but [06:48] also again advocating on their half so [06:50] that they can have the most favorable [06:52] work environment business environment [06:54] that they can to do the ministry that [06:56] they've been called to and that's just [06:58] important because um our our we kind of [07:00] call them our big brother the NB the [07:02] National Association of broadcasters [07:04] they're looking out for a lot of [07:06] broadcasters but they're more in the [07:07] secular broadcaster side in the [07:09] commercial broadcasting uh religious [07:11] broadcasters have a unique Mission and [07:13] role not only do we do we do what we do [07:16] over the air with all of our programming [07:18] but as you know and you all in Memphis [07:20] do a lot of community activity as well [07:23] and so that's important that the people [07:25] who are making decisions up in [07:26] Washington DC understand all of the work [07:29] that Christian broadcasters and their [07:31] programmers are involved in that's so [07:33] true I can see the vital I I've seen it [07:35] in my own career over so many years the [07:37] community relations are so vitally [07:39] important well this AM radio for every [07:41] vehicle act as you mentioned not only is [07:44] the nrb concerned as you said the [07:46] National Association of broadcasters [07:48] also were concerned their spokesman Alex [07:50] seleno credits Grassroots support and he [07:52] said this AM radio is continuing to [07:54] reach a vast audience of 82 million [07:57] listeners each month and they have been [07:59] very engaged in telling Congress how [08:01] important this medium is to them in [08:03] light of the threat by vehicle makers to [08:05] remove am from vehicles I mean that says [08:08] a lot 82 million listeners each month [08:11] Troy the efforts that you've been [08:12] engaged in with nrb in this whole issue [08:15] yeah it's just a little history behind [08:17] uh that and that and that was a great [08:19] comment a great statement that they made [08:21] and I was out the National Association [08:22] of broadcaster convention just last week [08:25] and AM radio was discussed number time [08:27] and Curtis Legette who's the CEO and [08:30] president over there mentioned AM radio [08:32] in his opening address as well and the [08:34] key about AM radio was that that this [08:36] idea came up there was going to be [08:38] interference with the new cars [08:39] especially the electric vehicles the EVS [08:41] that were coming out and this was going [08:43] to cause interference with the the radio [08:45] and you know the car manufacturers just [08:47] kind of made an assumption on their own [08:49] that AM radio wasn't you know important [08:51] to society anymore and this is kind of [08:54] sometimes what happens when you're up in [08:55] that sea suite and you live in the [08:56] cities and you don't understand how many [08:58] Americans do across this country still [09:00] depend on AM radio not just in Rural [09:03] America but even in urban America AM [09:05] radio is still very strong TR listeners [09:07] but I look I grew up on a farm in [09:09] Nebraska and we listen to AM radio all [09:12] the time AM radio is the go-to place for [09:14] news for weather for the farm reports [09:16] especially when storms or natural [09:18] disasters would come through you can [09:20] always count on em radio cutting through [09:22] all of that and that's what early 80s [09:24] you said 82 million people do across [09:26] this country they also mentioned that [09:28] over 400,000 people have written to [09:30] Congress saying you need to protect AM [09:32] radio so there's a few things going on [09:34] here the government Accounting Office [09:37] did a study and they said look the the [09:38] part to to Really Shield this is about a [09:41] $49 50 part to do this when you put that [09:44] in the cost of a520 or $25,000 car it's [09:47] really insignificant so there's more [09:49] going on here so we came out and we said [09:51] hey amarito is important here's why it's [09:53] important and and little behold Ford [09:56] which was a company that started this [09:57] they backed off and said yeah we're [09:58] going to keep it radio and now we have [10:00] this effort in Congress both the Senate [10:02] and the house to keep AM radio in the [10:04] dash that's unusual we see a bipartisan [10:06] group in Congress working to actually [10:09] introduce this act now you know we're [10:11] almost a year out since the bill was [10:13] first introduced in March of this year [10:15] the number of voting co-sponsors needed [10:17] was reached to ensure passage to the [10:19] House of Representatives sponsors of the [10:21] house legislation that was led by New [10:23] Jersey representative Josh gimer [10:25] announced that they had picked up the [10:27] 218 voting supporter and additionally uh [10:30] Troy transportation secretary Pete [10:32] budachek said that he's ready to run [10:34] with the act the moment Congress gets it [10:37] done now do you see this as an [10:39] indication that this is a Bill's shoe in [10:42] well I hope it's a shoe in I don't know [10:43] we'll call it that until he gets across [10:45] the line but yeah there is strong [10:47] bipartisan support both the bills in the [10:49] house and the Senate were sponsored [10:51] their sponsors are both Democrats and [10:53] Republicans so and and the co-sponsors [10:55] down the line the Senate is just about [10:58] to pass the 60 Mark probably in the next [11:01] week or so we'll do that now some other [11:03] bills have cleared out of the way that [11:05] will make it filibuster proof in the [11:07] Senate as well so we we do expect that [11:10] this Congress is going to pass this bill [11:12] probably before they go into recession [11:14] over the summer well back in February of [11:16] this year at the annual nrb [11:18] International Christian Media convention [11:20] in Nashville as we've mentioned [11:21] president Trump pledged his support for [11:23] AM radio now do you know what President [11:25] Biden has indicated similar support I I [11:28] don't know of a statement a specific [11:30] statement that's come out of the White [11:32] House but every indication is that that [11:34] this gets to the to the president's desk [11:36] that it will be a bill that get signed [11:38] has this issue for those not in favor of [11:41] this act more of a thorn in the saddle [11:43] for the electric vehicle auto [11:45] manufacturers are they seem to be the [11:46] main culprit here well I think the other [11:49] thing that's really going on here is is [11:51] a bit of a free speech issue as well so [11:54] it did come out in the last few weeks [11:56] that the real driver maybe behind this [11:58] is what's known as the connected car the [12:00] manufacturers of course when you buy a [12:02] vehicle today every vehicle has these [12:04] nice big screens in them they look like [12:06] a uh uh a computer uh touch screens you [12:09] can get apps and load all kinds of [12:11] things and so the real issue is who's [12:13] going to control the information that's [12:15] in the car so I think the autom [12:16] manufacturers would love to have you [12:18] sign up for subscription services and of [12:21] course it would generate new revenue for [12:22] them and uh they can control the [12:24] information in the car and uh we just [12:26] think it's important not to [12:28] disenfranchise as you said 82 million [12:30] Americans but we think there's a lot [12:32] more than that that depend on the AM [12:33] radio to be able to have uh the choice [12:36] of either free radio or the subscription [12:39] so we're not asking for anything above [12:41] and beyond we're just asking for a fair [12:43] playing field in the car so I I think [12:45] that's part of what's behind it but the [12:47] vehicle manufacturers as far as the part [12:49] now that argument has really gone away [12:52] okay well as you mentioned Troy a fair [12:54] playing card I understand that Digital [12:56] streaming rates for religious [12:57] broadcasters are 18 % higher than those [13:00] paid by NPR oh yeah that's another issue [13:03] that nrb is battling as well uh that's [13:06] the digital uh royalties rates the music [13:09] licensing rates that are paid by [13:11] Christian broadcasters and you're [13:13] exactly right 18% higher than what's [13:15] paid by NPR uh and we just don't think [13:18] that's fair and not only that it's been [13:20] very hard to get them to come to the [13:22] table and even talk and negotiate so we [13:25] had to move forward in the court to get [13:27] them to address this issue well as you [13:28] mentioned here you've wanted to protect [13:30] nrb members from unwarranted and [13:33] damaging new performance royalties from [13:35] record labels share your thoughts a [13:37] little more on Congress allowing [13:38] broadcasters and music labels to [13:40] negotiate good faith private deals for [13:43] the advantage really of both parties [13:45] yeah and that's the fair market at at [13:47] work to have Congress do this you know [13:49] the the the the problem with what's [13:51] going on in music licensing today is the [13:53] whole system needs to be reviewed by [13:56] Congress from the ground up and and kind [13:58] of looked at in today's environment with [14:00] not only overthe aair broadcasting but [14:02] with streaming and and most radio [14:04] stations most broadcasters are into [14:06] multiple delivery platforms not just [14:08] their signals that go out and so we're [14:10] looking at Congress to kind of step back [14:13] and stop Banda dating what's gone on in [14:15] music licensing over the last couple of [14:17] days and take a fresh look at it from [14:19] the ground up and allow as you said [14:21] allow organizations to go out negotiate [14:23] directly without all these special rules [14:26] that Congress has put in place to give [14:28] one side an advance AG over the other [14:30] well you and I both understand that [14:31] local radio equals local business Troy [14:34] radio stations like this one here bot [14:36] radio network are more than programming [14:38] listeners here they are small businesses [14:40] paying salaries property taxes payroll [14:43] taxes rent utilities along with a [14:45] plethora of other operational cost not [14:48] passing this bill would impact a lot of [14:50] businesses and workers are really a [14:51] major blow to already a suffering [14:53] economy don't you know oh absolutely and [14:56] local radio you said it provides that [14:59] that access for those local businessmen [15:01] to those markets and it's much harder [15:04] for them to compete on the national [15:05] scale to try to get into markets they [15:07] really need the local broadcasters to do [15:10] that and to partner with the local [15:12] broadcasters who knows your community [15:14] better than the people that live there [15:15] not people that are you know in other [15:17] cities across the country trying to make [15:19] those decisions so it's important look [15:21] Congress has said the Federal [15:23] Communication commissions has said that [15:25] local broadcasting is a vital part of [15:28] our society and is important for us as a [15:30] society and people and we're just asking [15:32] Congress to remember that they've [15:34] already made this decision and to help [15:36] protect local broadcasting from being [15:38] gobbled up by large corporate National [15:41] broadcasters that really won't look or [15:43] service those local markets well the am [15:45] for every vehicle act has further [15:47] verbiage that says the government [15:49] accountability office must study and [15:51] report on whether a reliable alternative [15:54] Communication System exists for [15:55] delivering emergency alerts and consider [15:58] the cost to drivers and passengers are [16:00] receiving Communications through an [16:02] alternate system second a cost and time [16:04] required to develop and Implement an [16:06] alternative now could this be a [16:08] potential loophole in the future if such [16:11] communication systems are developed and [16:13] create another battle line to save AM [16:15] radio well it could be but you got to [16:18] remember AM radio itself is innovating [16:20] uh as we go through we again we know how [16:23] strong the AM signal is to be able to [16:25] communicate and cut through storms and [16:27] and other barriers and and to reach a [16:29] longer distance so we're not afraid that [16:31] AM radio can stand and compete on its [16:34] own we just want to be able to have that [16:35] opportunity to continue on the platform [16:38] so so we're okay with that legislation [16:41] in there but we think the emergency [16:43] broadcast system is robust on AM radio [16:46] and am Digital radio is even more [16:48] opportunities that come down the road so [16:50] we're not trying to say look am deserves [16:53] an unfair balance we just want that [16:55] Level Playing Field and we're willing to [16:56] have Congress look at this over time and [16:59] see hey if there are changes yeah well [17:01] you mentioned the power of AM radio Troy [17:03] our listeners know that we at 6:40 a.m. [17:06] are ,000 Watts one of the strongest [17:08] Christian radio format signals in North [17:11] America reaching into eight states I had [17:13] a listener from Monaro Louisiana call me [17:16] driving on his combine in the fields on [17:18] his cell phone I've had callers from [17:20] Southern Illinois cape dardo and the [17:22] Boot Hill and even a caller from long [17:24] viw Texas that says you know you've been [17:26] talking about eight states I've been [17:27] listening to you guys for 13 years so AM [17:29] radio has that unique quality sometimes [17:32] of reaching places and people you have [17:33] no idea that's exactly right and again [17:36] that's the strength of AM radio and that [17:38] signal quality that signal strength cuts [17:41] through not only distance uh but again [17:43] we' look when when the storms came [17:45] through when I lived in Nebraska and [17:47] Tornado Alley it was the am dial that we [17:49] turned on to get our weather updates to [17:51] tell us when to head to the basement of [17:53] course we were in the midwest so we had [17:55] it to the porch to look at the tornado [17:56] but but the AM radio was the place to go [17:59] to and and look I remember listening to [18:01] AM radio as that young 15-year-old on [18:03] the tractor out in the field as well and [18:05] my grandfather certainly listen to it we [18:07] listen to it every day as we did chores [18:09] in the morning to hear the a report so [18:11] Americans depend on AM radio it's a [18:13] strong format it's a strong backing I [18:15] think we've made that case to the autom [18:17] manufacturers I think we have that case [18:19] made in Congress now we just need to do [18:22] the rest of the administrative process [18:23] and get this bill moved through and get [18:25] AM radio moving forward and protected [18:28] true as president and CEO of nrb you [18:31] have continuously upheld the [18:33] association's historic support for [18:35] Israel and concern for the welfare of [18:37] the Jewish people you returned I believe [18:39] it was in January this year from a [18:41] solidarity tour to Israel which you [18:43] defined as the most important and [18:45] emotional trip you'd ever been on can [18:48] you take us for a moment to that place [18:50] and the places where you tour and some [18:53] of the things you experienced yeah it it [18:55] really was like look I uh traveled all [18:57] around the world I was in Navy I've been [18:59] in several war zones this trip was as I [19:02] said the most emotional we arrived and [19:04] then we had some special permission from [19:06] the government and we went down to all [19:09] of the cities along the Gaza border that [19:11] were attacked on October 7th we went to [19:13] beer one of the first kabot that was [19:16] attacked that day and met with some of [19:18] the survivors saw firsthand the [19:21] atrocities that that went on in those [19:23] communities people that were you know [19:25] had barricaded themselves into their [19:27] homes uh only for the Hamas terrorists [19:29] to like set their homes on fire then and [19:32] then execute them as they tried to exit [19:34] their homes and it was very very hard to [19:36] listen to as a as a father of four [19:38] children to think you got up that [19:40] morning it was a Jewish holiday you [19:42] thought it was a normal just a beautiful [19:44] day your kids are going to go out and [19:45] play in the yard and the next thing you [19:47] hear is sirens for a missile attack and [19:49] then the next thing you hear is gunfire [19:51] in your own community and the terror [19:53] that went on and and some of the [19:54] atrocities are even unspeakable it [19:56] really wasn't just an attack it was a [19:59] direct attack on the Jewish people the [20:00] Jewish Nation but it was also the evil [20:02] one on that day was just an attack on [20:05] Humanity itself um then we went and met [20:07] in Jerusalem and some of the families [20:09] that were displaced there and the most [20:11] emotional days was Dem me with hostage [20:13] families those people who are still [20:15] being held there's 133 hostages still [20:18] being held by Hamas the youngest [20:20] hostages are toddlers that are being [20:22] held I believe the youngest one is about [20:25] 3 years old being held and the oldest [20:27] are some of our seniors that are in [20:29] their 70s and we don't know the status [20:31] of those hostages so it it is so [20:33] important for us to stand by Israel [20:35] during this time because again this was [20:37] not just an attack on the Israeli people [20:40] this was an attack on Humanity oh my [20:42] Troy that this year's nrb convention I [20:44] sat down with Adele rmer one of the [20:47] Israeli ladies who was from the kabut [20:49] there in Israel there on October 7th and [20:51] she told her horrifying experience for a [20:54] radio show here on mids South Viewpoint [20:56] that we aired and it just breaks your [20:57] heart to hear that that and our our [20:59] prayers do need to be with the families [21:01] and continue to pray for the release of [21:03] those remaining hostages but as you [21:06] stand in the trenches of cultural [21:08] Warfare bombarded by anti-christian [21:11] philosophy that ignores our constitution [21:13] real Justice and sound government what [21:16] gives you motivation and strength to [21:18] fight another day well look at the core [21:21] of what nrb does we talk about our [21:23] advocacy we talk about our helping uh [21:26] excellence and Ministry but at the core [21:28] of what we do is really to protect the [21:30] proclamation of the gospel and that's [21:32] what we're called to do as Christians [21:34] and it doesn't matter what Christian [21:36] organization we happen to run we about [21:39] the proclamation of the Gospel at the [21:40] end of the day and of course the gospel [21:43] gives us the hope that we need to keep [21:45] working day in and day out and you know [21:48] as you said we have a culture today that [21:50] is turned I'll say that in America right [21:52] now we're very hostile towards [21:55] Christianity we've seen all the protests [21:57] that have been going on across the [21:58] country the anti-Semitism that has gone [22:01] on and the anti-christian protest [22:03] there's been a number of attacks on [22:04] churches Pregnancy Care Centers and just [22:07] in a number of things across this [22:08] country but as hard as we fight and we [22:11] should fight in the culture to change [22:13] the culture the Gospel of Jesus Christ [22:16] the hope that we have in that is what [22:17] moves us forward and it's through the [22:19] glory of God that we do all of our work [22:21] oh yes well Troy if the gospel is the [22:23] best news for humankind Christian Media [22:26] has an incredible privilege and [22:27] responsibility to reach all nations with [22:30] that message how do we best mobilize our [22:33] resources as a unified coalition to tell [22:36] that story well that's a great question [22:38] and look we talk about a lot of division [22:40] and diversity in the church but look the [22:42] church has had that from day one if [22:44] you're uh the real student of the New [22:45] Testament you know that the church [22:47] wasn't birthed in this perfect [22:49] environment of cooperation and [22:51] coordination and the church has those [22:53] differences some of those differences [22:54] are good because those allow different [22:56] people to reach different groups [22:58] and so some of that diversity in in [23:01] there as Paul described in Corinthians [23:02] the body the hand the arms legs the feet [23:05] we need all of those things to go [23:07] forward but I think that the charge we [23:09] have to take and we've been talking [23:10] about this for the last couple of years [23:12] is we have to remember that at the end [23:14] of the day we have unity in the gospel [23:17] we have unity in Christ and that we all [23:19] make up the bride of Christ and and that [23:21] should be our Focus we're working on all [23:24] of these issues in society and some of [23:26] them are temporal issues but many of [23:28] them issues about eternity and [23:30] especially eternity where people will [23:32] spend and that's the important thing at [23:35] the end of the day it's good that we [23:36] help people with education it's good [23:38] that we help people to get food and and [23:41] housing and clothing and all of those [23:43] things clean water and that but at the [23:45] end of the day if we have well-fed [23:46] well-educated well-housed people who [23:48] spend eternity in hell then we failed so [23:51] I think for us as a church and for us as [23:53] a community and as you said especially [23:55] for us as Christian communicators [23:57] Christian broadcasters and Christian [23:59] programmers that's something we have to [24:01] remember and come together on well the [24:03] late Adrien Rogers once said we don't [24:05] need to try to rearrange the dick chair [24:07] on the Titanic but we do have a story to [24:09] tell right yeah I loved Adrien Rogers I [24:12] I loved his practicality that he brought [24:15] the gospel down to but that's exactly [24:17] right we all have a story to tell look [24:19] we're directed by the scriptures to tell [24:21] that story which how can our bot radio [24:23] network listeners best engage and show [24:25] their support for the AM radio for every [24:28] vehicle act so you can go to lb.org you [24:31] can read what we have posted up there [24:34] written about the AM radio act you can [24:36] also go out to house.gov or senate.gov [24:40] and drop an email to your Senator and to [24:43] your congressman and say you support AM [24:45] radio in your community and ask them to [24:48] do the same thing right now that would [24:50] really help and that would help get this [24:51] bill pushed through and make sure it [24:53] passes the summer and also if a listener [24:55] wanted to reach out to you to learn more [24:57] about our ation today how would you [24:59] direct them yeah again they can go to [25:01] nrb.org.np [25:14] on X and other social media platforms [25:17] and you'll be informed of all the things [25:19] that we're doing for Christian
