Transcript [00:00] [Music] [00:09] Israelis were plunged into grief and [00:10] anger after six hostages were killed the [00:13] rage sparked massive protests and a [00:15] general strike the most intense domestic [00:17] pressure on Israeli Prime Minister [00:18] Benjamin Netanyahu since the start of [00:20] the war nearly 11 months ago INB [00:24] president and CEO Troy Miller is [00:25] scheduled to address a Jerusalem prayer [00:27] breakfast in New York City joining me [00:28] now to discuss Troy thank you so much [00:31] for coming [00:32] on Stacy thank you for having me today [00:35] so let's talk about this it was a [00:37] devastating realization that they were [00:39] only a mile away from these hostages and [00:42] their deaths were sparked by a desire [00:44] for the terrorists to inflict more [00:46] damage upon the Israelis who are still [00:49] trying to recoup from almost a year ago [00:51] having a massacre on their own home turf [00:54] uh talk to me about the mood that you're [00:57] experiencing from people who are taking [00:58] all of this in [01:01] yeah first of all Stacy our prayers and [01:03] condolences go out to the families they [01:05] were so close to having their loved ones [01:07] uh to be home with them and and it's [01:10] just a tragic uh uh situation here that [01:14] unfolded and and look it's indication of [01:17] a lot of people that we talking to are [01:19] very angry you know from everything [01:21] we've read Hamas executed these hostages [01:24] when they knew the IDF soldiers were [01:25] closing in uh these people could have [01:28] been home they should have never been [01:30] there to begin with uh for the 30 over [01:33] 30 days that they've been held hostage [01:35] they should have never been there to [01:36] begin with um and and it's just terrible [01:39] it's a terrible event it's a terrible [01:40] turn on this it is and it's especially [01:43] heartbreaking when we consider that the [01:46] people who are protesting against prime [01:48] minister Netanyahu are protesting [01:51] against a man who doesn't have any [01:52] control over a terror organization the [01:54] terrorists have refused all of the [01:55] ceasefire efforts the terrorists have [01:57] refused to give accurate accounting of [01:59] the hostages that they still have who [02:01] are alive and it is the terrorists who [02:03] killed these hostages not BB Netanyahu I [02:07] know there's a lot of frustration and [02:08] helplessness that's what terrorism [02:10] engenders but what what should the [02:13] people of Israel and those who are [02:15] Americans who have H hostages or [02:17] relatives um what should they be [02:19] thinking at this time well first of all [02:22] Stacy from all the folks that we've [02:24] talked there uh the protests that we've [02:26] been seeing on the mainstream media that [02:28] it's really a small small portion of the [02:31] population of Israel by far the people [02:33] we talk to still support the government [02:35] and government actions and know that the [02:38] Israeli government has done everything [02:40] it can to try to negotiate the release [02:42] of these hostages uh it's been Hamas [02:45] it's backed out of every deal uh that's [02:47] been really close and and also Stacy [02:49] it's been a really failure on the US [02:51] government here had the US government [02:53] from October 7th of last year uh had [02:56] they held firm and put the pressure on [02:59] Hamas and and called continually for the [03:02] unconditional surrender of Hamas and the [03:05] unconditional release and return of [03:07] these hostages I think we'd be in a a [03:09] whole different situation than we are [03:10] today but 330 days into this the US [03:13] government still sends Mis messages of [03:17] uh to Hamas and the terrorists over [03:18] there and you're right uh the Israeli [03:20] government has nothing to apologize here [03:22] they uh the Hamas terrorist are the one [03:25] has decided at the last minute to [03:27] execute these hostages and again the [03:30] brutality that Hamas has had toward the [03:33] Israeli people these hostages and [03:35] Humanity in general it it's really [03:37] unspeakable and nobody should be [03:39] protesting on their [03:41] behalf yeah I think it's uh it's very [03:44] indicative of what we've seen in the [03:46] media here in the west especially out of [03:48] the United States media where they just [03:50] take Hamas talking points and they share [03:52] them on the air and that's very [03:54] confusing for Americans who don't know [03:56] which sources to go to to get accurate [03:58] reporting from the Middle East and [04:01] obviously there's an overall General [04:03] sense of disdain towards the nation [04:05] state of Israel who was the victim in [04:06] this attack and it carries forward from [04:10] there um there's there's a lot going on [04:12] here in on the United States side [04:14] obviously many people are are interested [04:16] in the US election and so that takes [04:18] some attention away from what has been a [04:20] torturous 11 months for the [04:23] Israelis yeah that's right uh the [04:26] election has taken away uh some of the [04:29] focus here in the the us but look it's [04:30] the first day colleges are starting back [04:33] up across the country we see in New York [04:35] today that the protests have started up [04:37] with them I'll be in New York in a week [04:40] uh as you said we're going to address [04:41] the ntion the Jewish uh Jerusalem prayer [04:44] breakfast in New York and it's an honor [04:45] to be able to do that it's an honor to [04:47] show the Jewish people that we the EV [04:50] Evangelical Christian Community is still [04:51] standing in solidarity with them and [04:53] prayer for them uh but people need to [04:56] get out and do a lot more and especially [04:58] with uh our foreign policy on the line [05:01] here with this election you really do we [05:03] do need to be paying attention to what's [05:04] going on with our greatest Democratic [05:07] Ally in the Middle East yeah and uh So [05:10] speaking of this breakfast and I'm so [05:12] glad that you are going to be one of the [05:14] leaders there um speaking on behalf of [05:16] evangelicals what are your thoughts what [05:19] would what do you plan to share with the [05:20] Jewish Community there in New York first [05:23] of all our our thoughts and prayers are [05:25] still with them and to let them know [05:27] that they are not alone I know they see [05:29] all these protest on the mainstream [05:31] media but there are thousands of [05:32] churches week in and week out that are [05:34] praying for the Jewish people that are [05:36] praying for peace in Jerusalem that are [05:39] praying for peace in the Middle East um [05:41] and praying for the safe return of the [05:43] hostages and and we want to let them [05:44] know that we want to let them know that [05:46] we're there we're praying for them uh we [05:48] support them and we are standing in [05:50] solidarity and and that is unwavering [05:53] solidarity with them arm in- armm [05:56] unwavering solidarity something that the [05:59] uh Jewish people could actually kind of [06:02] support that they would expect from [06:04] their closest Ally in the west which is [06:07] the United States but it really is now [06:09] dependent upon what type of presidential [06:11] Administration is in the white house [06:13] because when the Democrats are there [06:15] they seem to be really looking towards [06:17] their own new Coalition um Palestinians [06:21] people from the Middle East who really [06:22] are opposed to Jewish people even being [06:24] alive and they're very active [06:27] politically this election cycle [06:30] if you should see God forbid but if you [06:32] should see a incoming Harris Waltz [06:34] Administration do you have any [06:36] predictions for what we might see from [06:38] them as it relates to Israel in [06:41] 2025 well if you look at the pastor [06:44] where she has you know stood in the [06:46] states when she's made about Israel I [06:48] don't think it really bodess well for [06:50] Israel uh if she gets Administration but [06:52] lately she's you know waffled I I don't [06:54] think we really know where she stands at [06:56] one point she says you know Netanyahu is [06:59] the problem and then she turns around [07:00] and says well we stand unconditionally [07:02] with Israel then she turns around and [07:04] says something different so I think the [07:06] uncertainty that it's really created is [07:08] help the uh Israel's enemies in the [07:10] Middle East um but I don't think it's [07:12] going to be a good my prediction would [07:14] be this is not a good sign for Israel uh [07:16] should the Democrats [07:18] Prevail so that's not a good sign and so [07:21] American Christians have to be looking [07:23] at this and be really circumspect about [07:26] how we pray for Israel how we pray for [07:30] our own country and the West as a whole [07:33] because the entire west of the the world [07:35] is actually under an assault by Dei [07:38] Marxist ideological um you know efforts [07:41] and then even the progression from a [07:44] socialism Paradigm to obviously Marxism [07:48] and then what comes after that is [07:49] communism um how do you recommend [07:52] especially since you're going to a [07:53] prayer breakfast how do you recommend [07:54] Americans pray for this [07:56] situation you know first of all that's [07:58] exactly they need need to pray we need [08:00] to be on our knees praying we need to be [08:02] asking God not to remove his grace from [08:05] this country and to help Revival uh be [08:07] started in churches across the country [08:09] that's that's what we need in this [08:11] country we need the hope and the message [08:13] uh that the gospel brings and people [08:15] need to remember that and people also [08:16] need to remember that look policies have [08:19] consequences you can't be neutral we [08:21] wrote an article recently about the [08:23] number of Evangelical Christians who are [08:25] not involved or engaged in a political [08:27] process but the political process is not [08:29] neutral uh a secular country is not a [08:32] neutral country policies have impact and [08:35] they have impact on people's lives and [08:37] look as you said look what's going on in [08:39] Europe today uh Europe has moved to a [08:42] giant censorship Society now where [08:45] people are being arrested if you if you [08:47] came out in support of Israel or opposed [08:49] the Palestinian protest over in the UK [08:52] uh you could find yourself serving real [08:54] jail time with real fines and and look [08:56] that's going to be knocking on our door [08:58] soon uh should people not step up and [09:01] really get involved uh in the process [09:03] governance matters the people making the [09:05] policies matter and your Christian [09:08] worldview matters not just in your [09:10] church or your house it matters in the [09:12] public sector so please don't don't set [09:15] aside don't set on the sidelines get out [09:18] pray for this election pray for the [09:20] country uh and get [09:22] involved yeah the Bible says we have not [09:24] because we ask not and that the Lord [09:27] moves the head of the leader whichever [09:28] way it would go his mind is like streams [09:31] of of living water in the hand of God so [09:33] he can direct any of these leaders to [09:36] reverse on these censorship ideas but it [09:39] takes prayer on behalf of Christians and [09:41] so for people who feel that politics is [09:43] nasty and disgusting well if you want it [09:45] cleaned up you have to pray for that and [09:47] that's your private action and then you [09:48] mentioned publicly standing up for free [09:51] speech because when we're silent it is a [09:53] form of agreement with the ideology that [09:56] we're seeing in front of us we have to [09:58] stand up and oppose it and then pray [10:00] about [10:02] that oh yeah absolutely pray about it uh [10:06] every day but as you know as uh uh James [10:09] said you know if you uh I'll show you my [10:12] faith by my actions not just by my words [10:14] so I'm just a paraphrasing there that [10:16] book of James but James says look it's [10:18] it's action at the end of the day and if [10:20] we really do look we don't look at the [10:23] government the government is not the [10:24] answer it's not the Savior uh I don't [10:27] know any Christians that look at the [10:28] government that way or look at any of [10:30] the candidates that way but the [10:32] government is the institution that sets [10:34] policy in this country they are the [10:36] institution that sets the direction and [10:38] look how far we've gone in so many of [10:40] these different areas education being a [10:43] a top one who thought that we'd worried [10:45] today that our educational system uh [10:47] would be transgendering kids and [10:49] mutilating Middle School schoolers I I I [10:52] never would have thought that this is [10:53] where we're at but that's a result of us [10:56] not being involved in the governance and [10:58] the policies of this country country so [10:59] if you don't like where the country is [11:02] going then you have to get involved you [11:04] can't just sit on the sidelines you [11:05] can't sit on the couch and complain and [11:07] you certainly can't say well I don't [11:08] want to do this because well my friends [11:11] may not be happy with me if I vote one [11:13] way or the other come on get involved [11:15] that's that these are these These are uh [11:18] cop-outs that really they don't work [11:19] today they don't work and so I I wish [11:23] you safe travels and the best of a time [11:25] with um Jewish Americans and Israelis in [11:28] New York C city as you go there to pray [11:31] and spend time with them Troy Miller CEO [11:34] and president of National Religious [11:35] broadcasters nrb.org.np
