Troy Miller what not to love I love Noel [01:18] I love all you guys you know um my [01:21] friend David freedan is coming in he's [01:22] probably here already he's back from [01:24] Israel a while and he um he wrote this [01:27] new book he was on what about two weeks [01:29] ago one Jewish State and I've actually [01:32] gone into politics in Israel uh based [01:34] upon his book title we are trying to um [01:38] take this one Jewish State Group which [01:41] is led by Freedman I'm a delegate and [01:44] actually become part of the world [01:46] Zionist Congress very complicated but [01:49] I'm doing it so Freedman and I talk all [01:51] the time you know so he comes into he's [01:53] got the new book out so he has like nine [01:55] events in the next two weeks like every [01:56] day they call me freedan this I can't do [01:58] them all I can't do it I have an event [02:00] with the IDF on Tuesday they're honoring [02:03] my friend Michael Rapaport I got to go [02:04] to that Trump is speaking ni Kum on [02:06] Wednesday I go to that so I pick like [02:08] one or two I could do for fredman you [02:10] know in fact next Thursday I'll be with [02:12] Freedman Thursday night but he's got [02:14] these uh Jerusalem prayer breakfast [02:16] they've been asking me to do and speak [02:17] and all that and that's coming up on the [02:19] 15th and the 16th and that's going to be [02:21] terrific and I find out that uh Troy the [02:25] vice uh the president I should say and [02:27] CEO of the nrb will be speaking at this [02:31] Jerusalem prayer breakfast to bring a [02:33] message of Christian solidarity on [02:36] behalf of the religious broadcasting [02:39] community and you may not know this but [02:41] I'm very uh uh I guess uh what's up what [02:45] better to put it I'm big into Israel I'm [02:48] going back October the 5th I was there [02:50] in January and February I'm doing my [02:52] show October the 7th from just outside [02:55] Gaza for the oneyear commemoration okay [02:58] and um I'm a Fe fierce fighter for [03:00] Israel Freeman can tell you this and [03:02] we're always saying the Jews are not [03:05] enough thank God the Christians and the [03:08] evangelicals to their credit have [03:10] stepped up and they become great [03:12] Partners in our fight against terrorism [03:16] and Hamas so let me start by saying [03:19] thank you very much Troy thank you well [03:21] it's a pleasure and look it's it's we we [03:23] look at it as not just our duty but the [03:26] humanitarian thing to stand up for [03:28] Israel I was in Israel in nember last [03:30] year just two months after the October [03:31] 7th event and we went down South we saw [03:34] all the communities that were ravaged [03:36] and I mean ravaged that's just there's [03:37] no other way to say it this's most [03:39] inhumane things that went on down there [03:42] for forget where you stand on all of [03:44] this this was in humanity at its worst [03:47] at its absolute worst so it is our honor [03:49] to be able to stand by our Jewish [03:51] brothers and sisters so I show TR in my [03:53] jacket I'm wearing light on when I [03:54] change into my TV outfit for Brian kme [03:57] and on my lapel I've got I wear it every [03:59] day it's the flag of the United States [04:02] and Israel and you're wearing the same [04:04] exact pin this morning that made me [04:06] happy you wear that every day too like I [04:08] do I do I wear it every day and I also [04:10] have the same dog tags that you have on [04:13] uh you know with the bring them home now [04:15] uh so we're supporting uh getting the [04:17] hostages home and getting them home [04:19] immediately uh it it's should be the top [04:22] priority of every country around the [04:24] world uh but especially this country cuz [04:26] three Americans are still held that's [04:28] right three Americans are still still [04:29] held and Noel you work with Troy uh [04:32] Joanna Wisher loves you what exactly is [04:35] your title what exactly do you do with [04:37] Troy's Group Well thank you for the kind [04:39] introduction Sid yes I support the nrb [04:41] as the vice president of public policy [04:43] and Communications we have offices in [04:45] Nashville and office is in Washington DC [04:47] where we do our advocacy operations oh [04:49] nice I love Nashville it's a great where [04:50] do you live where do you live I'm on [04:52] Capitol Hill and Troy is in Nashville oh [04:54] okay so you're a Nashville guy I'm a [04:56] Nashville guy is that a great City it's [04:57] a great City it really is it's a uh it's [05:00] growing but it still has that small feel [05:02] to it it's fun it's exciting downtown's [05:05] great and a lot of events you know a lot [05:07] of people don't know that Nashville does [05:08] the largest Fourth of July fire uh [05:11] exhibit in the country that's true yeah [05:13] I was uh there for the first time years [05:15] ago for John Daly's golf tournament and [05:20] I went to the Grand do auy I stuck out [05:23] like a sore thumb they're like you don't [05:25] live here you're not one of us and I [05:27] went to the barbecue and I saw Vince [05:29] guil before war and I fell in love and I [05:32] would move there actually you know [05:33] people leave here because it's a [05:34] horrible City horrible and uh we go to [05:37] Florida Arizona North Carolina Tennessee [05:39] is a nice place country music they love [05:41] America and as far as I know Christian [05:44] judeo-christian values still very [05:47] important in Tennessee yeah very [05:48] important it's also not not only is it [05:50] they had a country music but [05:52] contemporary Christian music is centered [05:54] in Nashville so you get the best of both [05:56] worlds yep who right now is the biggest [05:58] star in that uh in that that field uh [06:01] the biggest star well there's folks like [06:02] Laura Story uh she's uh really doing [06:06] well this one this is one for my [06:09] daughter not me no I know but but when I [06:11] went to see Vince skill for example he [06:13] was having a an Unholy uh affair with [06:16] Amy Grant but uh but Amy it was one of [06:19] those folks who was a very very popular [06:21] Christian singer right is not right Amy [06:24] Grant is one of the oldtime great she [06:25] she is and the truth is some of the [06:27] old-timers are still having an [06:29] incredible [06:30] I mean Michael W Smith still comes up [06:31] toit hill leads worship encourages [06:34] people inspires people you know it is [06:36] truly it's a very very multigenerational [06:38] field and another thing about [06:39] contemporary Christian music it is one [06:41] of the fastest growing radio formats [06:43] right now it is gaining and gating by [06:46] the double digits every quarter as well [06:47] as religious talk and teaching so you uh [06:50] you're obviously into this this is uh is [06:51] that your favorite type of music is it [06:54] well I love talk radio talk talk radio [06:56] is my you know my favorite format we [06:58] love the religious talk and teaching so [06:59] many of our members are airing on AM [07:01] radio and you know that's uh that's [07:03] where we think the mission is really [07:04] being carried forward I feel like I'm [07:06] Unholy with you guys in studio just you [07:08] know cuz I curse and I talk about [07:09] horrible things like pornography and [07:11] here you are you know [07:12] Christian I'm sorry I take it back now [07:15] um but in all seriousness it's it's so [07:18] important that Christians uh folks are [07:23] helping us in this fight we can't do it [07:25] alone the Jewish people are so small in [07:28] number so small and the thing that [07:31] struck me most guys Troy and Noel when I [07:34] left Israel last time and I like to [07:36] watch the map on the flight you know and [07:38] you see all these countries like a lot [07:40] of them and they hate us and then you [07:43] see like this little I'm flying away [07:45] from it this little country the size of [07:47] New Jersey and somehow somehow they're [07:52] still there the greatest democracy in [07:55] the Middle East but they're not big [07:57] enough there's not enough of us and with [07:59] without your help we will not survive [08:02] people understand that yes yeah well [08:04] people in the Christian Community [08:06] certainly understand that and that's a [08:07] big reason behind the support you know I [08:09] was there again in May for the Jerusalem [08:11] prayer breakfast in Jerusalem and nrb [08:13] hosted a solidarity tour so we brought a [08:15] group of Christian leaders over and met [08:18] with folks not only from the government [08:20] but from the religious community and [08:21] from the Nos and one thing I heard over [08:24] and over again especially when we met [08:25] with some of the the the more reformed [08:27] rabbis these are the progressive RIS was [08:31] how much they appreciated that it was [08:33] the Christian Community and the [08:34] Conservative Christian Community that [08:37] was there supporting them praying for [08:39] them you you know the ones that are here [08:41] taking up the the charge Christian radio [08:43] Christian broadcasters have been talking [08:45] about this since October and their [08:47] Progressive left friends have abandoned [08:50] them completely wow not shocked not [08:52] shocked so tell me this Troy and Noel it [08:55] sounds to me like maybe having a [08:58] difficult time is a stretch but at the [08:59] very least you want more of these [09:01] Christians to vote you want to make sure [09:03] they come out and vote specifically I [09:05] would hope I know you do for Donald [09:06] Trump you know by the way there's people [09:08] in Israel that could still vote for this [09:10] election uh is that true is part of the [09:12] reason why you're out here today talking [09:14] to me is to uh the very least inspire [09:17] people to vote well we're a 501c3 so we [09:20] can't endorse or oppose candidates [09:23] but we think it's the god-given right in [09:25] this country to vote we think it's a [09:28] privilege that God has given us we think [09:30] the founding fathers understood that and [09:32] we think it's important that Christians [09:33] get out to vote because they need to [09:35] understand and quit being ashamed and [09:37] shamed out of the political process get [09:40] involved in the political process and [09:42] understand they're going to choose the [09:44] people who governs them these are the [09:45] people that are going to make the policy [09:47] decisions they're going to decide where [09:48] the money gets spent they're going to [09:50] decide the winners loser and with the [09:52] weaponization of government going on [09:54] with Christians and Christian [09:55] communicators they need to get out and [09:57] let their voice be heard but what is is [09:59] the percentage why does it sound like I [10:01] should be uh a little nervous about this [10:03] what's the percentage of folks that are [10:04] not voting about 37% of chrisan high [10:08] that's too high well 7 million people in [10:10] the swing States alone you know just a [10:12] minor change in this would make a huge [10:15] impact why aren't they voting what's the [10:16] issue a number of issues first of all [10:19] not enough pastors across the country [10:20] are talking about the key issues uh that [10:23] are really ahead of Christians today [10:26] social media makes them afraid and [10:27] ashamed to get out and be involved [10:29] politics and and they honestly think to [10:32] too many of them have bought into the [10:33] idea my vote doesn't count but remember [10:36] look you're not just voting for the [10:37] president if you're in a red State [10:38] you're voting all the way down the [10:40] ticket and that makes huge importance to [10:42] your local governance no doubt very very [10:44] good point Troy very good so you know [10:47] when uh when I talk to my friend sigy [10:49] flicker she's great she always says no [10:51] El she says they're coming for the Jews [10:54] on Saturday shabas and they're coming [10:57] for you on Sunday day when you're in [11:00] church just in case you guys think this [11:02] Hamas Israel thing is about the Jews [11:04] it's not okay they want everybody they [11:07] want Christians just as much as they [11:10] want Jews you guys feel that yes [11:12] absolutely absolutely Larry cudow here [11:15] with an urgent warning Washington is [11:17] coming for your savings to pay for their [11:19] spending mistakes that's why thousands [11:21] of Americans [12:23] then why don't more people get involved [12:25] I think the problem is is that while you [12:27] guys get that a lot of Christians don't [12:29] don't understand that they're under [12:31] siege as well I mean look right here in [12:32] New York we got we got politicians who [12:35] don't want prayer in school I got to [12:38] tell you I'm a Jewish kid I went to poly [12:40] prep I had to go to mass every morning [12:42] right I didn't care it's okay that works [12:45] for me I really believe these School [12:47] shooters and all these kids that have [12:50] gone bad if they had some a father would [12:52] help too don't get me wrong but if they [12:54] had some religion some it would mean a [12:57] heck of a difference yes yeah well even [12:59] if you think back and think that they [13:01] just had the foundations of the jjo [13:03] Christian values and principles and [13:05] morality that was taught to them forget [13:07] forcing the the religion on them to say [13:09] you have to go one way or the other but [13:11] just to understand those principles and [13:13] values they they not just prayer but [13:15] they've been ripped out of the schools [13:17] as well and that's why we're seeing all [13:18] the all the issues today are there any [13:21] politicians uh either one of you guys [13:23] know well or Troy that are serving today [13:26] that you feel like are real partners [13:29] that represent judeo-christian values [13:31] may be better than others and maybe need [13:33] to be heard more from well I can think [13:35] of a few who have been incredibly [13:37] impactful on that front you know Josh [13:39] Holly has been an amazing voice for the [13:41] concept of Christian statesmanship a lot [13:43] to admire there I think on the side of [13:45] just tactical um TCT tactical leadership [13:49] Jim Jordan has been incredible what the [13:50] house Judiciary Committee is doing [13:52] they've made the public aware of so much [13:53] of what's going on but that leads me to [13:55] another point that I think is very [13:57] important as part of this conversation [13:59] you know we saw some research recently [14:01] indicating that more than half of [14:03] Evangelical Christians are not paying [14:05] much attention to news about politics [14:08] and government and if you don't know [14:10] what's going on then you don't know that [14:11] your freedoms are under threat and that [14:13] information is such an important [14:15] precursor to voting because low [14:16] information voting is another another [14:18] risk you know and so it's so important [14:21] that all people of Faith you know if [14:22] these Trends carry throughout other [14:24] religious groups as well we've got a big [14:26] problem on our hands so important that [14:28] people of Faith are listen listening to [14:29] Independent analysis and more so even [14:32] that broadcasters who have those values [14:34] who are people of Faith are providing [14:36] that critical engagement with the is no [14:37] they don't listen you know I was having [14:38] this argument Bill oy yesterday not [14:40] argument but different you know we're [14:41] talking about who won the debate on [14:43] Tuesday and on [14:45] substance okay uh Trump won because she [14:48] spent 90 minutes lying to the American [14:51] people but not enough Americans are [14:54] aware of what's going on my listeners [14:57] they're much more Savvy they think they [14:59] represent everybody they don't they [15:01] don't most people are watching the [15:02] Dolphins and the bills real housewi up [15:05] New Jersey they're at their friend's [15:06] house they have no idea so the fact that [15:09] Harris can sit on stage for 90 minutes [15:12] and not fall asleep like Joe Biden and [15:14] actually come at Donald Trump like she [15:17] did made her a worthy candidate it [15:20] doesn't matter what she says to Bill [15:23] O'Reilly's point because like you're [15:24] talking about too many Americans have no [15:27] idea they just don't is that not a fair [15:29] statement No that's a that's a fair [15:31] statement too many Americans are [15:33] disengaged from the political process [15:35] and they don't understand uh they didn't [15:37] tune in they don't understand the issues [15:38] for themselves and they're they're [15:40] living off of this soundbite kind of [15:42] media uh delivery and and look that's I [15:45] think Noel made a great Point that's why [15:47] it's so important for broadcasters and [15:49] we've been pushing very hard our [15:51] Christian broadcasters doing such a [15:53] great job of getting the the truth out [15:56] there getting the message out there and [15:57] getting people engaged how many [15:59] Christian broadcasters are there I'm [16:00] just curious I don't I don't have any [16:01] numbers on this do you around the [16:03] country around the country there's [16:05] around a thousand Christian radio [16:07] stations in the country many other you [16:09] know affiliate stations that will carry [16:10] Christian content but beyond that the [16:13] world of digital Communications you know [16:15] that's radio alone but television [16:17] digital publishing that entire world is [16:19] vast are you a religious person yourself [16:22] I am yes so you go to church every [16:23] weekend and all that stuff and uh are [16:25] you married you have kids and all that I [16:27] am married yes how many kids December no [16:29] children yet no oh you just got married [16:31] last December yes I did oh [16:32] congratulations good for you and you too [16:34] I imagine you go to church absolutely [16:36] very four kids four kids four look at [16:39] you and you go to church every week know [16:41] that yeah you know it's it's funny the [16:43] Jewish religion we have so many groups [16:46] you know and I grew up basically even [16:48] though my dad was very religious my mom [16:50] wasn't so I grew up as a reformed Jew [16:52] which is basically one step away from [16:53] being Christian I celebrated Hanukkah [16:55] and Christmas um and then you have like [16:57] the Orthodox which you know they're [16:59] they're in Temple every day you know the [17:01] whole thing um and I think before [17:03] October the 7th there was really kind of [17:06] a a you know a split between all these [17:09] Jews you know uh I think since October [17:11] the 7th I think most of the Jewish [17:12] groups tend to accept others because [17:14] we're starting to realize we're [17:15] outnumbered here and we need all the [17:17] help we can get you know but there's all [17:19] these different you know levels of [17:21] Judaism you don't really have that in [17:23] your religion or do you I'm I'm asking [17:25] out of ignorance Yeah we actually do we [17:27] have different denominations and and and [17:30] folks that hold to some different [17:31] theological beliefs about the Bible but [17:34] the core really still centers around you [17:37] know the work of the Gospel of Jesus [17:38] Christ and so so we do center around [17:40] that and that's Unity is a big issue for [17:43] nrb that's one of the things that we [17:44] push uh within the body of Christ and [17:47] and getting this Christian Community [17:49] unified n RB boy you guys do a [17:51] tremendous job you really do it's a very [17:53] very important message I'm very happy to [17:55] meet both of you this morning so what's [17:56] up next for you what do you got to do [17:57] next oh so we're uh here in uh DC so [18:01] we're doing some more media the rest of [18:02] this week and you in New York today yeah [18:04] sorry New York I am in like Jo I've been [18:07] on I've been on the road I don't know [18:08] where I'm at we're in New York today [18:10] we're doing some more and then Monday as [18:11] you said I'll be with you at the [18:13] Jerusalem prayer breakfast again [18:15] bringing that message of solidarity from [18:16] the Christian Community to let our [18:18] Jewish brothers and sisters know you're [18:20] not alone there were over a thousand [18:22] churches Jack hibs Pastor out in [18:24] California had over a thousand churches [18:26] praying for peace and protection for and [18:29] people most know this too that there all [18:31] Christians being held hostage as well [18:32] that's right not all Jews there all [18:34] Christians being held hostage that's [18:35] right right and around the world we [18:37] still see horrible acts horrible acts [18:40] involving Christians in countries all [18:42] over the world every day right every day [18:45] Christian persecution is on the rise uh [18:48] throughout the world and unfortunately [18:49] it's even on the rise in Europe uh uh [18:52] with Christians being one of the vocal [18:54] groups there to talk about what's going [18:56] on in the culture and now we're seeing [18:58] Christians jailed across Europe I mean [19:00] if I remember correctly guys and and I [19:02] may be wrong but I think I think I'm [19:03] right when Barack Obama was President [19:05] and in Egypt they saw to be heading [19:07] people on the beach those were all [19:09] Christians those were Christians in [19:10] Egypt and in Libya that's right I [19:12] remember that that was
