Transcript [00:02] [Music] [00:06] welcome back everybody we are going to [00:07] shift gears a little bit and focus on [00:09] Israel in just a few moments now we [00:10] already know that Hamas rejected a [00:12] proposed ceasefire last week and the [00:14] media has continued to blame Israel for [00:17] hostilities continuing but is that fair [00:19] well joining us now to talk about that [00:20] and so much more is the president and [00:22] CEO of the National Religious [00:24] broadcasters Troy Miller Troy thanks so [00:26] much for being with us tonight oh thanks [00:28] for having me guys part we're going to [00:30] start a little closer to home president [00:32] Trump in a longtime navy blue stronghold [00:36] Detroit over the weekend and met with [00:39] numerous Faith leaders in that City a [00:41] lot of black Faith leaders who are [00:43] saying you know what we have relied on [00:45] democrats for a while to have our backs [00:47] and it just doesn't feel like that has [00:49] happened for a very long time so they [00:51] are taking a serious look at president [00:53] Trump the reception seemed quite warm [00:55] didn't it it did seem quite warm and [00:57] I've said for a long time you know [00:59] president Trump Rel to people and people [01:01] relate to him he's just down to earth [01:03] enough and I think the pastor put it [01:05] well you know Obama didn't come and and [01:07] Biden didn't come but as he said [01:09] president Trump came to the hood and met [01:11] him where they're at and and that's just [01:13] a real Hallmark of of him he really [01:16] cares about people and and people [01:18] resonate with that they understand that [01:21] he really is a kind of people's [01:23] president yeah it was really remarkable [01:26] uh Troy I think there's a lot of the [01:29] current ad administration's policies [01:31] that have had a disconnect with uh maybe [01:33] Democrat leaning voters who are people [01:35] of Faith whether it's Dei or the um uh [01:39] lgbtq uh agenda and other things is this [01:42] a moment where Democrats have overplayed [01:44] their hand and now they're going to feel [01:46] a uh basically a [01:48] boomerang yeah I think they're seeing a [01:50] real backlash from overplaying their [01:52] hand as you said whether it's on the [01:54] lgbtq I know a lot of people are very [01:57] upset especially over uh the whole [02:00] dysphoria that's going on with with you [02:02] know adolescence and Elementary age kids [02:04] today uh that they're pushing this this [02:07] agenda I just read an article today that [02:08] said most kids come out of their gender [02:11] dysphoria within about five years of of [02:13] first showing it and yet this is an [02:15] Administration that has constantly [02:18] pushed anti-christians and really [02:20] immoral policies and people across the [02:23] country are waking up to it and and [02:24] again look at the big backlash in [02:26] education today of how many states now [02:29] have laws that allow money to go where [02:31] you take your kids and people are [02:33] pulling kids out of public school so [02:36] definitely the country has seen that the [02:38] Democrats are are really out of touch uh [02:42] with the mainstream with the middle of [02:43] the country even uh and just plating to [02:46] the far left of their [02:48] party yes sir I want to ask you about [02:51] the boldness of Believers today uh there [02:54] was an article in uh on Fox about 2 [02:57] Corinthians 13 which says I believed and [03:00] therefore I spoke I think that's the new [03:01] King James version um Christians I think [03:03] for a long time have tried to knock rock [03:06] the boat but it seems that things have [03:07] gotten entirely too in the other [03:10] direction for Christians to stay quiet [03:12] are you seeing things trending in that [03:14] direction oh absolutely Christians are [03:16] being a lot more vocal about their faith [03:18] today I think two things about that one [03:21] you said it the the pendulum has really [03:23] swung uh in the in the opposite [03:25] direction we're just seeing the rapid [03:28] immorality across the country today and [03:31] you know people are understanding this [03:32] is affecting families it's affecting our [03:35] culture we're seeing higher crime rates [03:37] we're seeing uh more problems with the [03:39] whole sexual Revolution and the other [03:41] thing I think Christians are speaking [03:43] out more boldly about is because they're [03:45] being pushed in the corner and tried to [03:47] be silenced you know we deal with on a [03:49] daily basis of our members who are um [03:52] censored on almost all of the major [03:55] social media platforms thank goodness [03:57] for Elon Musk and x x is about the only [04:00] one that you can uh talk on today but [04:03] even there there's issues with certain [04:05] kind of christian messages that go [04:07] across and that's made people uh talk [04:09] about their faith and look the only [04:10] answer uh to what's going on in society [04:13] today is the hope of Jesus Christ and [04:15] that's the message Christianity brings [04:18] yeah and it's interesting I've been in [04:19] the media a long time and the media kind [04:21] of es and flows in its coverage of Faith [04:23] but it seems like in the last year or so [04:25] there's been a lot more conversation [04:26] about faith in the Public Square in the [04:29] mainstream media [04:30] uh sometimes it's condemning or it's [04:32] it's negative but there God and Jesus [04:34] and Faith come up a lot more in the [04:36] media than I've seen do you sense that [04:38] as well Troy I I do see that today that [04:41] it is coming up a lot more in the media [04:43] and again I think it's back to because [04:45] if you look at the other stories in the [04:46] media there there's so much despair [04:49] there's there's so much uh evil and so [04:51] much fear that's being pushed on people [04:53] people are starting to look for you know [04:56] hope and they're looking for some [04:57] positive they're looking for something [04:59] that can give them uh the energy to get [05:01] on with the day and so I I hope that the [05:03] media uh opens up and talks more about [05:06] faith and and certainly that's a a thing [05:09] that we're encouraging a lot from our [05:10] members sure no doubt um Troy there is a [05:14] devastating number that I want to ask [05:16] you about because I hope it's improved [05:17] but the last time I saw a metric taken [05:19] of this in 2020 there were 25 million [05:22] Christians in America who don't vote I [05:25] think 15 million who weren't even [05:27] registered please tell me that number [05:28] has has improved [05:30] well we're certainly working hard to [05:33] make sure it improves there are a lot of [05:34] organizations that we partner with uh [05:37] that are out to get out the vote and [05:39] again I think that that number is going [05:40] to improve I think we're seeing we're [05:42] seeing more pastors today who are [05:45] willing to talk about issues political [05:47] issues to talk about the the importance [05:50] of voting and again I think Co coming [05:52] off the hills of Co and all the [05:54] cancellations that churches went through [05:57] and then to see people not just [05:58] organizations but people who are [06:00] cancelled on Facebook and other uh [06:02] social media platforms when they make [06:04] comments on some of these key issues uh [06:07] that's really gotten people fired up [06:09] about where our government is at today [06:10] and the hostility and weaponization it [06:12] is against their beliefs and their [06:15] faith I know sir you just came back from [06:18] Isel you have been a long uh champion of [06:20] Israel widely recognizes that uh there's [06:23] this extraordinary narrative in a small [06:25] part of America that somehow Israel is [06:27] the perpetrator even though it was the [06:29] one that was attacked on October 7th how [06:31] have you been combating that what are [06:32] the most effective ways to re-educate [06:34] people who don't who may have forgotten [06:37] that October 7th happened because of [06:38] Hamas not because of [06:40] Israel yeah and that's one of the things [06:42] John we've been working hard at is to [06:43] keep that uh idea in front of them to [06:46] make sure people understand the truth H [06:48] Hamas is the one that started this War [06:50] uh they started it at a time when [06:53] actually Israel thought that the [06:54] relations between the two groups was was [06:57] uh going pretty well and yet here Hamas [07:00] does this surprise attack on October 7th [07:02] this horrific attack you know we were at [07:04] the Nova Film Festival again this uh [07:07] last trip and to understand all of the [07:09] young adults there who lost their lives [07:11] and the many of them who were taken [07:13] hostage today uh we have to get that [07:15] message out we continue to get that [07:17] message out the other thing that we have [07:18] to understand is all the propaganda [07:21] that's coming out of our own government [07:23] that's talking about what's going on [07:24] within Gaza you know these last four [07:26] hostages that were rescued two of those [07:29] hostages were in civilian homes uh they [07:31] weren't being held by the military they [07:33] were being held by civilians there in [07:35] Gaza and we still have 120 uh hostages [07:38] being held and we need to get them all [07:40] home yeah no doubt yeah gives you a [07:43] little hint about the attitude of people [07:44] who aren't officially Hamas uh Troy tell [07:47] us a little bit about um the [07:50] relationship between Christians and Jews [07:52] in America it seems like what we have [07:54] seen since since last October has uh [07:57] been a a real coming together for both [08:00] Faith a real strengthening uh of both [08:03] Faith looks I've been to Israel twice [08:05] now in the last six months and and both [08:08] times you know met with uh folks from [08:10] various parties there and met with a lot [08:12] of uh folks from the left and the [08:14] progressive side and I think the one [08:15] thing the Israel uh is understanding and [08:18] Jewish people are understanding with all [08:20] the anti- uh semitism that's going on on [08:22] the college campus today and the marches [08:25] there that the one people who are [08:26] standing next to them uh and [08:29] conditionally standing next to our [08:31] Jewish brothers and sisters are the [08:32] Christians or Evangelical Christians and [08:34] that is what I heard over and over on [08:36] this trip again uh many of them [08:39] especially on the left you know the the [08:41] the secular Jewish Community leaned [08:43] pretty far Progressive and and they were [08:46] very open on lgbtq issues and abortion [08:48] issues a lot of issues that we sort of [08:51] would find ourselves on opposite side [08:53] yet it's the Christians who are coming [08:55] to Israel it's Christians who are [08:57] praying for them it's Christians who are [08:58] sending uh equipment and support and Aid [09:01] to Israel and it's Christians who are [09:03] really standing up as a voice and that's [09:05] not gotten lost in the Jewish Community [09:07] today um just before I left one of the [09:10] Jewish rabbis leading rabbis there told [09:12] me he goes you know I never thought that [09:14] it would be Christians who would be [09:16] standing arm in-arm supporting us in [09:18] Israel and so we're really working hard [09:20] on that kind of solidarity and that [09:23] support yeah very important our our [09:26] faiths are grafted together and there's [09:27] no getting around that biblically CEO of [09:30] National Religious broadcasters Troy [09:32] Miller thank you so much for joining us [09:33] on these issues I have a feeling that [09:34] this is going to be a topic of [09:35] conversation heading into the elections [09:37] so we're going to have to get some more [09:38] updates from you absolutely thank you
