Transcript [00:01] hey [00:02] um it is the ultimate it brings the [00:05] ultimate peace a relationship with God [00:08] my belief is [00:10] Jesus so it's an amazing thing it really [00:15] is I highly encourage you if you haven't [00:17] you haven't opened the Bible like I did [00:19] for most of my life well you really [00:22] start making some connections and [00:24] miracles start happening um take a look [00:27] at this number please 32 million [00:30] Christians are unlikely to vote in this [00:32] election and take a look at this number [00:34] there are 104 million Christians um and [00:39] uh self-identified Christians 32 million [00:41] booring look these numbers uh a lot of [00:44] folks are kind of stumped as to why [00:46] they're not voting so many are staying [00:48] at home Troy Miller joins us he is the [00:50] president and CEO of the National [00:52] Religious [00:53] broadcasters uh organization welcome [00:56] Troy and uh hey if you don't mind tell [00:58] us a little bit about your organization [01:01] sure thanks good to be with you tonight [01:02] so nrb has been around 80 years now uh [01:05] we represent the largest number of [01:07] Christian broadcasters communicators [01:09] across the US and and almost around the [01:11] world we have over 1600 members they [01:14] reach 141 million homes every month on [01:17] television uh radio and that doesn't [01:20] even count all of our podcasters and [01:22] internet bloggers and all those folks so [01:24] that's nrb we hold an annual convention [01:26] every year it's the largest gathering of [01:28] Christian communicators will be in Texas [01:30] in February of 2025 I know there's some [01:33] polls out there uh there's also word of [01:35] mouth and you know some influencers [01:36] saying that Christians are not voting [01:38] the way they should be voting can [01:40] you verify that for us and tell us why [01:44] that's [01:45] happening yeah I mean if you look at the [01:47] numbers from the 2020 and 22 election [01:50] and and compare the number of Christian [01:52] voters to the total number of folks that [01:54] uh identify as Christian across this [01:56] country and Bara came out with this [01:58] research and and said nearly a third of [02:00] Evangelical Christians 30 some 35 to 40 [02:04] million Christians just set this out and [02:07] I think there's a few reasons behind [02:08] that one they've been intimidated for [02:11] you know well over the last decade by [02:12] the left I mean what other group you [02:16] know is out there that you want to live [02:18] out your beliefs and all of a sudden [02:20] you're called Christian nationalists and [02:22] that's a negative I think every group [02:24] out there is a nationalist anybody else [02:26] who's voting and living out their [02:27] beliefs they're not shamed in for doing [02:29] that but Christian are and then there's [02:31] there's the fact that not enough pulpits [02:33] across this country are standing up and [02:36] really speaking about the issues and [02:38] speaking to the issues today but I [02:40] really think that number is going to [02:41] change I think we're going to see a very [02:43] large Christian turnout I think some of [02:45] the early voter numbers we've seen [02:47] really is going to indicate that this [02:49] group is going to show up and they're [02:50] going to vote their [02:52] beliefs um can I ask you Christians [02:55] though typically historically do they [02:57] vote as a block I mean it's a pretty in [03:00] many ways it's a diverse group fair to [03:03] say it's it is a diverse group it's fair [03:05] to say there's a lot of different but if [03:07] you look at the at the poll numbers 80 [03:09] to 85% of the Christians vote on the [03:12] conservative block so for the most part [03:14] as a far majority Christians vote more [03:17] conservative than they do uh Progressive [03:20] or to the left so yeah they vote pretty [03:22] strongly as a conservative block when [03:23] they show up and could you tell us [03:25] please um as a Christian just tell the [03:29] folks um the benefits of being Christian [03:32] what uh what it means to you if you [03:33] don't [03:34] mind oh no I don't mind at all first of [03:37] all look there's the hope we have in our [03:40] faith and the Hope in Jesus Christ we [03:41] look at the world around us and we know [03:44] the world is full of Despair it is it is [03:46] it is full of depression it it is full [03:49] of problems but look our faith tells us [03:52] that this there's something above this [03:54] world there's something Beyond this [03:56] world uh that we can all hold on to and [03:59] that's the Love Of Christ that Christ [04:01] loved us and God loved us so much that [04:04] he sent his one and only begotten son so [04:07] we can have the confidence that when we [04:10] stand in front of God when we stand in [04:12] front of there and God looks at our life [04:14] he's going to say you know what I know [04:16] you you had problems you messed up but [04:18] my son paid for all that your life is [04:20] clean your slate is white clean and and [04:23] everything's good and that's the hope [04:25] that keeps people moving forward that's [04:27] the hope that we have in our faith and [04:29] it doesn't matter whether you're [04:30] Protestant or Catholic that's the common [04:32] hope we all hold to Troy Miller I'm so [04:36] glad I asked president and CEO of the [04:39] National Religious broadcasters so [04:41] appreciated go to nrb.org.np [04:48] [Music]
