Transcript [00:00] and we're going to stay on the topic of [00:01] Trump's discussion on anti-christian [00:03] bias we're going to bring in now Troy [00:05] Miller he's president and CEO of [00:08] National Religious broadcasters Troy [00:10] thank you for joining us I want to ask [00:11] you this President Trump says this new [00:13] task force will seek to Halt all forms [00:15] of anti-christian discrimination within [00:18] the federal government so what will the [00:20] Attorney General be looking at in her [00:22] investigation into [00:24] this well thanks for having me today [00:27] first this was a promise president Trump [00:29] made when he spoke spoke at the nrb [00:30] convention last February uh he said to [00:33] our audience there candidate Trump said [00:36] uh that he realizes the government has [00:38] been weaponized against Christians in [00:40] various agencies in the department and [00:42] if he's elected he promises to look in [00:45] this and to De weaponize the government [00:47] I think uh the Attorney General is [00:49] probably going to look at her own [00:51] justice department first uh the number [00:54] of FBI raids on pro-life Christians FBI [00:58] raids on Christians who were uh [01:01] supportive of the Trump Administration [01:03] those things went on so I think that'll [01:04] be the first place she starts and then [01:06] hopefully she'll look just across all [01:08] the agencies and particularly the IRS as [01:11] well the number of audits and the number [01:13] of information that the IRS has [01:15] collected on Christian organizations so [01:18] th those are two areas I think are going [01:19] to be right in the Forefront of what [01:21] she's going to look for absolutely and [01:23] this executive order it also seeks to [01:25] defend not only the rights of Christians [01:28] but also all religious believers Across [01:30] the Nation so what changes are you [01:32] expecting to see when it comes to just [01:34] religious liberty in general here in the [01:36] US during Trump's second [01:38] term yeah so the and you're exactly [01:41] right the first amendment is the freedom [01:43] of religion and so president Trump has [01:46] talked about that and and he's going to [01:47] look at all religions that are being uh [01:50] unfairly persecuted by the government I [01:52] think one of the changes first of all is [01:54] it just the intimidation Factor just to [01:57] know that the government is looking into [01:58] this and pastors and organizations uh [02:02] across this country Now understand that [02:04] there's that intimidation that Fear [02:06] Factor is going to go away the other [02:08] thing I think that's going to happen uh [02:10] immediately uh is you're probably going [02:12] to see the changing of several policies [02:15] and regulations uh as it comes towards [02:18] uh Christian enties I hope that that the [02:21] um justice department also reveals how [02:24] much information they have gathered [02:26] about Christian leaders and Christian [02:28] organizations across this country and [02:30] leaders in other religions and makes [02:32] that uh information public so but just [02:35] to know that that risk there is off you [02:37] is really going to open up a a lot of [02:39] free speech and a lot of freedom uh for [02:42] organizations across this country [02:44] speaking of free speech you're in the [02:46] media sector Troy are you expecting any [02:49] changes specifically in that sector or [02:51] is there anything you're hoping for from [02:53] the [02:55] president well again I think what we're [02:57] hoping for is this elimination a bias [03:00] you know there were several U people in [03:03] Congress and across the government uh [03:06] they were writing to you know [03:08] distributors in various uh uh uh video [03:11] television distribution and saying hey [03:13] you shouldn't carry these kinds of of uh [03:16] program shouldn't carry conservatives uh [03:18] we know they were looking at things that [03:19] were going on one of the things we're [03:21] really hoping for the president and it [03:23] was reintroduced is the AM radio and [03:25] every Dash act uh that the president [03:27] promised again at the nrb convention he [03:29] would look into this he would sign it [03:31] and that Congress would protect AM radio [03:33] AM radio is vital to Christian talk and [03:36] teach programming and it look it's vital [03:39] to the um natural disasters and the [03:42] emergency alert system across this [03:44] country so those are two things we're [03:46] really uh hoping will come out of this [03:48] Administration in in right here in his [03:50] first 100 days absolutely and we've also [03:53] heard the president announced that that [03:54] there's going to be this new Faith [03:56] office in the white house and it's going [03:57] to be led by the pastor Paula white [04:00] could you tell us more about who she is [04:02] and what her experience [04:04] is well look she's been an adviser to [04:06] the president for a number of years they [04:08] have a relationship that goes back a [04:11] long time she has counseled him uh on [04:14] the religious and Evangelical Community [04:17] um I actually saw her at event recently [04:19] on Capitol Hill um I think she's a an [04:23] excellent person to do this uh in the [04:25] community and again it just shows that [04:28] the president sees how how important [04:30] religion is to our country and to the [04:33] foundation of our country and if if we [04:35] don't have that faith that Foundation of [04:38] Faith across the country the country is [04:40] just going to fall apart it will fall [04:41] into Anarchy and chaos and so it's great [04:44] to know that the president has raised [04:46] this uh to an important level and and [04:49] the highest priority he can so it's an [04:51] office within the executive branch and [04:53] TR before we go here looking a little [04:55] broader we also saw the president [04:56] pardoning 23 pro-life activists shortly [05:00] after taking office have you heard [05:02] anything more from them or about them [05:04] how do you see you know this very [05:06] contentious issue of abortion playing [05:08] out over the next four [05:09] years yeah so first of all for all of [05:12] those who were afraid uh that the [05:14] president had changed his stance during [05:16] uh the election on pro-life I think [05:18] we've now seen that this is probably [05:20] going to go down and he's going to go [05:21] down in history as one of the most [05:24] pro-life presidents that maybe has ever [05:26] served uh and I am personally thankful [05:29] for his uh pardon of those 23 Pro lifers [05:33] six of those are right here in Mount [05:35] Juliet Tennessee where I live and so I [05:38] know the the community here people who [05:39] know those people have just been elated [05:42] that they're back home they're back with [05:44] their families uh and that the president [05:46] has done this and and it was they were [05:49] wrongly prosecuted they were wrongly [05:51] convicted they should have never been in [05:53] prison uh these people did did no [05:56] violence but to see him to do that to [05:58] see him to pull back on the Federal [05:59] funding uh for abortion and to reinstate [06:03] the Mexico uh act and Mexico policy uh [06:07] it just we couldn't be happier uh with [06:09] the president again he mentioned this at [06:11] the nrb convention uh a year ago and it [06:14] was another promis made promise kept to [06:16] the pro-life Community Troy Miller [06:19] president and CEO of National Religious [06:21] broadcasters thanks for joining us [06:23] today thanks for having me
