Transcript [00:04] [Music] [00:09] welcome to securing America with Me [00:11] Frank afne the program that's a kind of [00:13] owner's manual for protecting the [00:14] country we love against all enemies [00:16] foreign and domestic to the glory of God [00:20] and his [00:20] kingdom well we are marking the great [00:24] anniversary in this country of its [00:27] founding at the signing of the [00:30] Declaration of Independence the 4th of [00:33] July we are honored to be on the air on [00:37] a wonderful Network real America's voice [00:40] to enjoy the fruits of Liberty and to [00:44] encourage all of our audience to not [00:47] only relish them but to assure we [00:51] continue to have the opportunity to do [00:54] so in a dangerous World fraught with [00:57] enemies foreign and and [01:01] domestic I'm very proud to have as both [01:03] a friend and valued colleague in the [01:06] broadcasting business a man who has [01:10] become the president and CEO of the [01:13] National Religious [01:15] broadcasters he's our first guest his [01:17] name is Troy Miller he's a Navy veteran [01:20] and has therefore all the more reason to [01:24] patriotically embrace this holiday but [01:28] he's also performing a very very [01:30] important service to the country by [01:32] helping those who speak [01:35] truthfully and Faithfully about this [01:38] nation about the Chas choices it faces [01:42] about the challenges we all [01:45] encounter to do that well and do it free [01:50] of censorship which many seem intent on [01:55] imposing upon us again both enemies [01:59] foreign and domestic Troy Miller is the [02:03] man that we will open the program with [02:06] and begin our celebration of the Fourth [02:08] of July and I can't think of a better [02:10] individual to do that thank you Troy for [02:13] joining us it's great to have you with [02:14] us sir thanks Frank for having me today [02:17] I wanted to start Troy by asking you [02:20] just to reflect if you would a bit and [02:22] in your own right obviously but also on [02:25] behalf of your wonderful organization [02:27] about the importance of the Fourth of [02:29] July [02:30] and a concern that I think we share that [02:33] your audiences a part not enough [02:36] Americans really appreciate what's been [02:39] done to give us the Liberties that we [02:41] enjoy today and how well how perishable [02:45] they [02:46] are yeah that's exactly right Frank I I [02:49] think a lot of Americans don't [02:52] understand the sacrifices that have been [02:54] made over the history of this country [02:56] over the life of this country to give us [02:59] the freedoms that we are and and I also [03:01] think that you know this is a great day [03:03] for us to reflect on you know what the [03:06] founding fathers really themselves [03:09] sacrificed in order for us to have these [03:12] freedoms and what they held dear too to [03:15] themselves they understood that our [03:17] freedoms weren't granted by a king they [03:19] weren't granted by a monarchy or or a [03:22] government that our freedoms were [03:25] inherently given to us by our creator [03:28] and that was really if we think about it [03:31] that was the footing that they stood [03:32] upon that's the rock that they stood [03:34] upon when they decided to stand against [03:37] the British Monarchy and that's really [03:40] the history of of this country is that [03:43] we understand that the freedoms we have [03:45] the individual freedoms we have are [03:47] given to us they're they're they are [03:50] endowed To Us by our creator they're not [03:53] given to us by our government I think [03:54] you said it right the the scariest thing [03:57] today is we have a government that [03:58] thinks they're in charge they're the [04:00] ones that Grant these freedoms you know [04:01] I reflect back at as you said my time in [04:04] the military and and the Navy and I I [04:06] just remember those Fourth of July [04:09] celebrations where we understood what we [04:12] were doing what what our role was and [04:15] what the purpose of the Navy was for [04:17] this country to protect those freedoms [04:20] or protect those rights sometimes we [04:21] don't like the rights the way some [04:23] people use them but they have the right [04:25] to do that and I think that's important [04:27] for us to remember today [04:31] well and especially so when we have a [04:33] commander-in-chief who seems to be among [04:36] those who either are indifferent to some [04:40] of those rights or worse yet it seems on [04:43] some days at least perfectly prepared to [04:46] restrict them and this brings me to a a [04:49] topic which I know is near and dear to [04:50] your heart and not of your membership U [04:53] Troy Miller the [04:55] censorship that has been you know [04:59] practiced by the Biden Administration it [05:03] was the subject of a Supreme Court [05:05] ruling just the other day and I anxious [05:08] to get your take on the implications of [05:10] that ruling but we saw the the [05:14] administration in in the context of the [05:17] covid pandemic uh saying well certain [05:22] information [05:24] certain data certain opinions certain [05:29] speech each had to be restricted because [05:32] it did not conform to the party line [05:35] about the nature of the disease the [05:37] nature of uh the best way to treat it [05:40] and and other opinions that that would [05:44] deem to be miss or dis or even Mal [05:48] information what are your thoughts on [05:50] where we stand on this most important of [05:54] well second only I would argue to [05:56] freedom of religion which is the first [05:58] of the freedoms in the Bill of Rights [06:00] um but uh freedom of speech where are we [06:02] on it sir yeah I think we're in a a [06:05] pretty perilous state right now Freedom [06:07] religion I think we were all [06:09] disappointed that the court decided not [06:11] to take up the case on the government [06:13] colluding with the social media [06:15] organizations but I also think to remind [06:18] that the government didn't rule on the [06:19] merits of the case they just kind of [06:22] kicked the can down the road saying that [06:24] there was no standing so I think we're [06:25] going to see this come back in front of [06:28] the court I don't think the court can [06:30] can dodge this for very long but one [06:33] thing out of it I think we have to all [06:35] understand was the court and everybody [06:37] else you look at the case nobody can say [06:39] that the government didn't interfere [06:41] with freedom of speech the government [06:43] certainly coerced these social media [06:47] organizations to quelch any kind of you [06:50] said messaging that was contrary not [06:52] only to the to the ideology that they [06:55] hold but contrary to the actions that [06:57] they were taking and I think that's [06:59] should frighten most Americans that we [07:02] have a government now today that if you [07:05] hold any any criticism of the actions [07:09] that the government or the current [07:11] Administration is taking that you're [07:13] going to be silenced and the [07:14] government's going to feel a little more [07:16] empowered that you're going to be [07:17] silenced and that's again why we're [07:19] fighting so hard to keep you know [07:22] Christian broadcasters Christian [07:24] communicators churches pastors you know [07:27] their ability to speak into the public [07:29] sector I think this government has no [07:32] conscience about shutting down the free [07:34] speech of Americans today I think they [07:36] wouldn't hesitate or blink in a second [07:39] if they could do that and and know they [07:41] could get away with it and that's [07:42] frightening it is absolutely frightening [07:44] and thank you for what you're doing in [07:46] this regard to push back on behalf of [07:48] all of us not not just your you know own [07:51] constituencies but U Troy in that regard [07:54] let me just ask you about something that [07:56] this Administration [07:59] was a prime mover behind and that would [08:02] be this so-called International Health [08:06] regulations Amendment agreements I I [08:10] call it a treaty because it's a [08:12] internationally legally binding Accord [08:15] and therefore is a treaty and therefore [08:16] should be considered by the United [08:19] States Senate as a treaty but the Biden [08:21] Administration has no intention of doing [08:23] that but they did have in mind getting [08:25] the World Health [08:27] Organization to require through this [08:30] process the United States and all the [08:32] other member nations of the who to adopt [08:37] a uh a [08:38] mechanism for you know addressing as [08:42] they put it [08:43] addressing misinformation [08:46] disinformation and I think they have in [08:48] mind Mal information which is too much [08:50] truthful information as it turns out [08:53] your thoughts on this are are so [08:55] important because your members are going [08:58] to be impacted especially if this kind [09:01] of thing were to become the supreme law [09:04] of the land and it might well do if we [09:07] don't stop it so we have to take a short [09:10] break we'll be right back with more with [09:12] Troy Miller of the National Religious [09:13] broadcasters to get his response to all [09:15] of this right after this stay [09:17] T welcome back Troy Miller is in the [09:20] house I'm pleased to say he is the [09:21] president CEO of a very important [09:24] organization based in Tennessee these [09:27] days it is the naal religious [09:30] broadcasters Association nrb and he does [09:35] an important service most obviously for [09:38] the members of his community of [09:41] broadcasters but for the country as well [09:44] because I believe that uh what serves [09:47] the interest of freedom of speech that [09:51] nrb members engage in serves the people [09:55] of this country and it is important that [09:58] we both take note of it and appreciate [10:00] it on a day like the 4th of July when [10:04] those freedoms were first put in motion [10:08] Troy you were you [10:11] know talking a bit about the importance [10:14] of of course our first amendment rights [10:17] freedom of religion of goes even without [10:20] saying but freedom of speech as well and [10:22] your concerns about what the [10:24] administration is doing to um interfere [10:28] with the free exercise of those [10:31] Liberties I I'm particularly concerned [10:34] that they've just agreed to a new [10:38] treaty that it appears would create a [10:42] new international legal [10:45] pretext for censoring us and I wonder [10:49] what your thoughts are on the [10:51] advisability of allowing that to go down [10:54] without a fight uh and more to the point [10:56] and get the Senate to reject this [10:59] so-called International Health [11:01] regulations [11:03] treaty right we we absolutely need to [11:06] fight this in every capacity we can to [11:08] get the Senate to reject it you know [11:10] think about that that first of all as we [11:12] talked about earlier that we understand [11:14] that our freedoms don't come from a [11:15] government they certainly don't come [11:17] from a a World Health Organization a [11:20] globalist kind of group that doesn't [11:22] understand that's going on in the [11:24] country and has in my opinion different [11:26] objectives that they're trying to [11:28] achieve and and so the fact that they [11:30] would now and and this is what we see [11:32] often is is the government here tries to [11:36] use these kind of Scare Tactics and and [11:39] use this sort of what I call Big Brother [11:41] you know look they'll say oh the World [11:43] Health Organization because it sounds [11:45] certainly important it sounds like oh [11:47] this is should be a great organization a [11:49] great entity um they're we're we're [11:52] partnering with them as the globe around [11:55] the world this is something all the [11:56] countries are coming together on and [11:58] that's you you know that's a you're [12:00] right that's a that's puff it up and and [12:03] make this message sound like it's it's [12:05] good but what we really have is this as [12:07] you said this extension that these [12:08] globalists these elitists who who quite [12:11] honestly have this attitude reason we [12:13] call them elitists is because that's [12:14] what they think they think they know [12:16] better what's better for you than you [12:18] know what's for yourself and they want [12:21] to decide what is misinformation I mean [12:23] I I just think of all the the [12:26] organizations we have that do wonderful [12:28] work around the world missionary work [12:30] they do humanitarian work they do social [12:32] work around the world what's going to [12:35] happen to these organizations when the [12:37] World Health Organization decides that [12:38] their message is no longer in line um in [12:41] what they're doing I mean look look at [12:43] what the government recently did with [12:45] Health and Human Services on adoption to [12:47] say that today you can't adopt unless [12:50] you sign off to all the lgbtq and [12:54] transgender ideology is the World Health [12:57] Organization going to now push that [12:58] global [12:59] because that's an issue that's exactly [13:01] what will happen if this treaty goes [13:03] through you know again you're a veteran [13:06] of the United States Navy you swore an [13:08] oath to support and defend the [13:11] Constitution of the United States what [13:14] these guys are explicitly saying at the [13:17] World Health Organization of course is [13:19] that they're in the business of [13:21] promoting Global [13:23] governance and last time I checked [13:26] that's not the same thing as the kind of [13:29] limited accountable representative [13:32] constitutional government that you've [13:34] you know wore the uniform to serve and [13:36] you continue to support and defend in [13:38] your current role and all the more [13:40] reason why we do agree you need to join [13:43] and all of us need to join in fighting [13:45] this uh affront to our constitution [13:48] especially on the eve of the Fourth of [13:50] July let me ask you about one other [13:54] aspect of the work that uh you and your [13:57] team of religious broadcasters are [13:59] deeply committed to and rightly so Troy [14:02] and that is another country a country [14:05] that very much shares our values a [14:07] country that has been I think formative [14:10] in many ways of the values that that we [14:13] hold dear as well and that of course is [14:15] the the well the ancient nation of [14:19] Israel and now its current modern State [14:22] you were there not so long ago I I [14:25] remember talking with mutual friends [14:27] they managed to contract some malady [14:30] while you were there unfortunately but [14:31] you were you were an important part of a [14:33] delegation that was meeting at the [14:34] highest levels of the Israeli government [14:37] to demonstrate solidarity with them talk [14:40] a little bit about how you and and if [14:43] you can your team view what's going on [14:46] with Israel at the moment um especially [14:48] if you would at a moment where it looks [14:52] as though Israel will be confronting not [14:54] just Hamas in Gaza but in a very direct [14:59] way Hezbollah the Iranian sort of [15:02] Foreign Legion if you will in Lebanon [15:05] and and perhaps Iran [15:09] itself yeah absolutely Frank you know we [15:12] on this trip was about solidarity and [15:15] about you know information gathering it [15:17] was a fact finding trip we were able to [15:20] meet with just a number of people across [15:22] Israel rabbis political figures key [15:25] individuals but one one day we actually [15:28] went to Samaria what what the modern [15:30] world likes to call the West Bank and we [15:33] spent time a whole day up in Samaria and [15:35] and you know there's so much [15:36] concentration and there's still a lot [15:38] going on in Gaza and Israel needs to [15:41] complete its mission in Gaza but people [15:43] don't understand the West is not [15:45] reporting the truth every day we were [15:48] there Hezbollah was firing Rockets into [15:50] Israel you know from Lebanon into Israel [15:53] every single day over a 100,000 people [15:57] have been been displaced from their [15:59] homes in the northern part of Israel and [16:01] now are are scattered throughout hotels [16:03] all across Israel because of of what's [16:05] going on with Hezbollah and to think [16:08] that the American and one of the [16:09] messages we took to them is don't [16:11] believe everything you see on American [16:13] mainstream media America and the church [16:16] in particular Stands Strong with Israel [16:19] we had over a thousand churches a month [16:21] ago praying for Israel and we have [16:23] churches today and people across this [16:25] country and Christian Media getting the [16:27] truth out and we stand that was a key [16:29] message we brought to them God bless you [16:31] for doing so we have to leave it at that [16:33] Troy Miller we're out of Time come back [16:35] to us with updates on all of this if you [16:37] would sir I I beg you pardon we're not [16:38] out of time we've got another two [16:40] minutes God bless you for conveying that [16:42] message and uh doing so as I'm sure you [16:45] did very powerfully the the thing is [16:49] it's not just [16:51] your you know cohort of religious [16:54] broadcasters that feel this way about [16:56] Israel by at least the polling that I've [16:59] seen from the Harvard Harris team [17:02] something like 80% of [17:04] Americans you know are very solidly [17:07] aligned with Israel against Hamas and I [17:11] and I'm pretty sure that would apply to [17:12] its other enemies as well to the extent [17:16] that the US government though is now [17:20] increasingly demonstrating I I think day [17:22] by day not only it's a Rabbid hostility [17:26] to Benjamin Netanyahu and his government [17:30] but also you know a an alignment with [17:35] the idea that Hamas must survive if not [17:39] actually win in this battle with our [17:43] most important Ally I mean what is your [17:46] Takeaway on those counts quickly if you [17:50] would hey Frank I'm sorry I lost the [17:53] whole last sentence of you I beg your [17:55] pardon I was just asking and we're [17:57] almost out of time but just very quickly [17:59] your your sense of um the takeaway from [18:04] Israel of what the US government is [18:07] doing a to their government and B [18:09] aligning with [18:11] Hamas oh yeah sure so that that was a [18:14] topic we did talk about you know and [18:16] again the the government feels I think [18:18] Israel's ready to handle this alone I [18:20] think Israel knows that they stand Al [18:22] alone they know that this government has [18:24] turned on them and that the government [18:27] is is really as you said enabling AAS [18:29] and enabling heah with some of the [18:31] decisions that's gone on here so that's [18:33] so so we abely to tell yeah it's nuts [18:37] it's it's bad for not just Israel of [18:39] course but bad for us as well we have to [18:41] leave it at that thank you so much for [18:43] your time today Troy Miller and the [18:45] great work that you do at the National [18:46] Religious broadcasters come back to us [18:48] with updates if you would in the near [18:49] future
