Transcript [00:00] day is only 8 days away and people of [00:02] faith in particular have an opportunity [00:04] to make a major impact that could change [00:06] the course of this country as you were [00:07] just hearing that discussion yet [00:09] according to a study from the cultural [00:10] Research Center at Arizona Christian [00:11] University only 51% of all Faith voters [00:14] are likely to vote in November with just [00:17] over 200 million people of faith in [00:18] America that means only 104 million [00:20] Faith voters actually roughly 104 [00:22] million Faith voters will sit out the [00:24] election joining us now to get his take [00:26] on all of this is the president and CEO [00:28] of the National Religious broadcast [00:30] Troy Miller Mr Miller it's good to see [00:32] you millions of Christians have decided [00:34] not to vote their values that isn't only [00:36] a betrayal of their citizenship but also [00:38] it's counter to what God calls us to do [00:40] right oh absolutely it's a betrayal of [00:43] their faith uh and loving our neighbor [00:45] because we're saying that the people [00:48] that are going to govern this country [00:49] the people are going to set the policies [00:51] people are going to decide the laws and [00:52] legislation that get signed and past the [00:54] people are going to uh decide how the [00:56] money gets spent are going to be ungodly [00:59] pagan people are just people who don't [01:01] hold the same values same set of morals [01:03] and same set of principles that we do so [01:06] I I actually think that that number may [01:08] be off I think we may see a real wave of [01:11] Christian voters here because what I've [01:13] been hearing from a lot of pastors is [01:15] people are pretty fed up you know with [01:17] what we just heard from the Gary Bower [01:19] there and from the president you know [01:21] the the over push of the left especially [01:24] into the school system into women's [01:26] sports uh into the cancel culture uh and [01:30] the closing down of churches during Co I [01:32] I think people are going to remember [01:33] that they're looking at a government [01:35] that's really [01:37] overreached yeah religious freedom very [01:39] much on the ballot this November the [01:41] Democrats are anti-religious [01:43] anti-religious freedom and of course [01:45] conservatives and Trump's America First [01:47] agenda very much in favor of that how do [01:49] we get people of Faith engaged in Saving [01:52] one of our most precious rights in this [01:54] country religious freedom well first of [01:56] all I think talking about these issues [01:59] uh and letting people know what these [02:00] issues are and we need a lot more of our [02:02] pastors to stand up and be speaking out [02:04] in the pulpits today um you know there's [02:06] been a lot of push to to Really shame [02:09] Christians from getting their faith into [02:11] politics but look the Lord when he [02:13] prayed when he gave us what we we know [02:15] as the Lord's Prayer he said you you [02:17] know let your will be done on Earth as [02:20] it in he as it in heaven how much more [02:22] could God's will be than to elect godly [02:24] people who are going to hold the same [02:27] principles same values and same morals [02:28] that we do and so people have to [02:30] understand that people of Faith have to [02:31] understand that people who have [02:32] registered have to understand that to [02:34] get out and vote and decide that the [02:36] direction of this company is really held [02:38] by Christians in this country there's no [02:40] other voting block that could do what [02:42] Christians can [02:43] do you know I saw a side by side on the [02:46] internet uh it was showing Camala Harris [02:49] and Hillary Clinton politicking at black [02:51] churches and of course that's that's [02:52] celebrated they could they can spread [02:54] their Democrat me message to [02:56] traditionally black churches or churches [02:58] in general the minute conservative wants [03:00] to get behind the pulpit and say hey [03:02] vote your values all of a sudden the [03:04] Internal Revenue Service and and the [03:06] left wing starts threatening the tax [03:08] exempt status of that religious [03:10] institution doesn't that double standard [03:12] have to change oh that double standard [03:15] definitely has to change and look we [03:17] we're taking the IRS to court over that [03:19] what's known as the Johnson Amendment [03:21] that's the the IRS standard that says [03:23] your tax exemp in Jeopardy if you uh [03:26] oppose or endorse a candidate but you're [03:28] right the the the in uh equal [03:31] enforcement the unequal enforcement on [03:33] this has to go now look we believe that [03:35] all churches all pastors should be able [03:37] to stand up and endorse candidates for [03:39] 175 years of this country pastors [03:43] endorsed or were involved in politics [03:44] involved in the cultural thing until [03:46] Johnson decided you know that a group of [03:49] churches in Texas opposed his Senate [03:51] candidacy and he came out with that got [03:53] that bill pushed through and that law [03:55] changed so we're we're we're trying to [03:57] un trying to bring that back to the way [03:59] it was of the founding of this [04:01] country and another consequence of [04:03] giving government taxing power they [04:05] abuse it as they always do Troy Miller [04:07] thank you very much appreciate the time [04:09] still
