[00:07] CEO of National Religious broadcasters [00:09] Troy a Miller at nrb CEO on X Troy [00:14] thanks for coming [00:15] on oh thanks for having me today it's [00:17] always good to be with you always great [00:19] to have you coming on especially to talk [00:21] about these important subjects and this [00:23] one we just can't we can't stress it [00:25] enough that this is a huge huge time for [00:30] us to have this specific conversation [00:33] The Daily Caller has an article it's by [00:35] you you wrote this it's time to get [00:37] millions of Evangelical voters to the [00:39] polls so important to talk about this [00:41] tell us about your writing [00:43] here yeah so P came out with a recent [00:47] survey that we looked at and and and to [00:50] sum it up that basically about 37% of [00:53] evangelicals uh have not been [00:55] participating in this great Democratic [00:58] process that we have to elect uh the [01:00] leaders of this country and so we just [01:02] think strong enough about this issue [01:04] that you know God has given us this this [01:07] wonderful you know constitutional [01:09] republic that has this democracy part of [01:12] it that we can be involved in in [01:14] electing those who will govern over us [01:16] and it was just really heartbreaking to [01:18] see that a large portion of of [01:21] Christians who sat in the pews in and [01:24] out of churches each and every week are [01:26] not participating in that [01:28] process not parti [01:30] ipating not even plugged in um which [01:34] means you know so I I think the offshoot [01:36] of this is the sudden shock that was [01:39] experienced during covid when people [01:41] woke up to the fact that their children [01:42] were being taught deviant and and sexual [01:46] immorality um they woke up to the fact [01:48] that their teachers talked really mean [01:50] you know kind of horribly [01:51] disrespectfully to their children um [01:53] sitting next to your child you're on a [01:54] zoom your child's on Zoom for school and [01:56] the teacher dressing them down and [01:58] you're thinking who is this person [01:59] talking to my child [02:00] this happened because people are checked [02:02] out and it's one thing for people who [02:04] are unbelievers to be checked out it's [02:06] not good but it's not that that's like a [02:09] a an expectation but for Christians [02:12] we're supposed to Steward our children [02:13] we're supposed to Steward our resources [02:15] we're supposed to watch over government [02:17] for us not to do it it it really is it's [02:20] a [02:21] travesty oh it is Stacy and that and as [02:24] you said as Christians the Bible [02:26] couldn't be more clear about this [02:28] whether you're looking at the old [02:30] Testament or the New Testament you know [02:32] we are called uh to lead our families [02:34] both mothers and fathers to be involved [02:36] in the lives of our children to to be [02:39] keenly aware of what they're being [02:40] taught and and and how they're being [02:42] treated in the culture and the fact that [02:45] people are so disconnected and and [02:47] really just just unconcerned about this [02:51] is is uh it's it's really shameful and I [02:54] think it's probably really sinful you [02:56] know the again the Bible's clear Paul [02:59] calls us to be involved in the culture [03:02] Jesus called us to be involved in the [03:04] culture you can't open any of the New [03:06] Testament Epistles and not understand [03:09] that we are called to be Salt and Light [03:11] in the world and we get the opportunity [03:14] to decide God gave us this great country [03:17] to decide who's going to make the [03:19] policies who's going to govern how it's [03:21] going to be governed what's going to be [03:23] important to people so yeah Christians [03:25] don't have any excuses if you look [03:27] around you and say the the culture going [03:30] to you know what in a handbag uh because [03:33] we should be [03:35] involved and if we aren't involved [03:38] there's an [03:38] additional uh kind of it's It's a driver [03:43] I I think it's a driver for me I'll just [03:44] speak for myself it's a driver sometimes [03:46] when I'm feeling like well I just you [03:48] know I don't feel like doing that then I [03:50] remember I'll be held to account for all [03:52] the actions I took and the ones I didn't [03:54] take and something that I feel like the [03:56] Lord is going to really be talking to us [03:58] about is the fact that we all say we [04:00] want to take back our country and we [04:02] want to see these things happen in our [04:03] country and we're you know lamenting the [04:05] state of leadership and and the lack of [04:07] servant Hood in our elected officials [04:09] and on and on and on we we read all the [04:12] news stories we know the headlines by [04:13] heart we can really you know kind of [04:15] talk about that but if we're not [04:17] participating if we're not you know [04:19] working the polls or or maybe making a [04:22] small donation everybody has a different [04:25] role not everyone is going to lead a [04:27] National Religious broadcasting [04:29] organization but they could support by [04:30] donating um not everyone's going to [04:32] maybe you know do the radio but they [04:34] could take information they learn on the [04:35] radio and have gentle conversations with [04:38] friends and relatives when it comes up [04:40] maybe do a little evangelizing that way [04:43] um all of us have a role to play and if [04:45] we're doing nothing if we're not even if [04:46] we're not even willing to get up on one [04:48] day and go vote it takes an hour if you [04:50] go vote right after [04:52] lunchtime then how can we [04:55] complain yeah exactly how how can we [04:59] complain but but look it starts back [05:01] with being informed as you said it [05:03] unfortunately 37% of evangelicals don't [05:06] even know what's going on in the culture [05:08] today and and and and don't know what [05:10] the what the news headlines are and that [05:12] that's where it starts that's where [05:13] Christian broadcasters come in that's [05:15] where broadcasters like you come in you [05:17] you know there's there's plenty of [05:19] avenues for information flow out there [05:22] uh you just need to tune in uh not only [05:26] to listen but tune in to get involved as [05:28] as well [05:30] um because again like you said it it's [05:33] it's a it look God gave us this [05:36] country before this country came about [05:39] you had monarchies all around the world [05:41] you didn't get a chance to participate [05:42] in the governance of a monarchy that's [05:44] what founded this country and the [05:46] founding fathers understood that they [05:48] understood that they wanted to have a [05:51] voice in how they were governed and who [05:54] governed them and and they took that [05:56] back to that was a right given to us by [05:59] God and so the church today needs to [06:01] understand that that right still exists [06:04] don't be afraid to talk about politics [06:06] in your uh family gatherings or into [06:09] Gatherings with your friends don't be [06:11] afraid to understand what's going on and [06:13] then complain someday when you come home [06:15] and you find out your kid is being [06:16] taught this thing that thing or the [06:18] other thing or you find out that you're [06:20] going to have to pay taxes to support [06:22] this that or the other thing that that [06:23] don't fit your values your principles [06:26] and and your morals get involved so yeah [06:30] the the answer here is to get involved [06:32] and Troy you you're actually writing [06:34] about this you're talking about there's [06:37] there's so much to this but let's let [06:39] start off with in your article you open [06:41] up with this recently Unearthed clip in [06:43] which the Democratic nominee for VP [06:46] Governor Tim Waltz asserts that there's [06:48] no guarantee to free speech on [06:49] misinformation or hate speech especially [06:52] around our democracy close quote and [06:54] then you go into talking about how that [06:56] is not what the First Amendment says and [06:58] and all of our rights are given to us by [07:01] God they're protected by the [07:02] Constitution so whenever someone [07:03] assaults the Constitution they're really [07:06] assaulting our god-given rights because [07:08] the Constitution is just a [07:11] protection right and and that's what [07:13] people don't understand that's the [07:14] difference between and and one of the [07:16] things you hear a lot out there is you [07:17] hear about our democracy is at risk our [07:20] democracy is going to fall we're a [07:23] constitutional republic we're not a [07:26] democracy democracy is a component of [07:28] that and that that we all get to vote we [07:31] all get to be a part of that process but [07:33] it's the the rights are we're we're [07:36] enshrined in the Constitution by our [07:38] found fathers and they understood that [07:40] those rights themselves when you go back [07:42] and look at the Declaration of [07:43] Independence those do those rights [07:46] themselves come from God they're [07:47] inalienable rights they're not given to [07:49] us by man they're not given to us by [07:51] government therefore they can't be taken [07:53] away by government and that that's one [07:55] of the fundamental differences in [07:57] thinking that we should have as [07:59] Christian [08:00] than the rest of uh Society has about [08:02] where our rights come and how democracy [08:04] really works uh in this country and [08:06] that's what allows us again to be [08:10] involved in the process you look at [08:11] what's going on around the world today [08:13] and there's so many people look at over [08:15] in Europe now they're just locking [08:16] people up left and right for social [08:18] media posts uh for things that they say [08:20] in public if you hold a sign up or [08:22] anything that disagrees with the [08:24] government you're going to end up in [08:25] jail and with with thousands of dollars [08:28] worth of fines and we're protected here [08:30] but we're only going to be protected as [08:32] long as we're [08:35] involved and being involved means so [08:39] it's not just enough to know what's [08:40] going on it you have to actually be [08:42] courageous enough to speak out because [08:44] we have we that's that's the problem in [08:46] Great Britain the people who have common [08:48] sense didn't speak out now that they're [08:51] speaking out it's too late they're [08:53] they've been invaded they have far too [08:55] many people who have come in to [08:57] immigrate into their country without [08:59] assimilating these are people who live [09:01] there but they hate it they hate the [09:02] people they even hate the way the [09:04] buildings look that that's what's so [09:05] crazy to me that you would come from a [09:07] third world country where there are no [09:08] buildings or paved roads land in a [09:11] highly developed historically [09:13] significant country and not only hate [09:16] the people but hate the way it looks [09:17] hate the buildings even hate the weather [09:19] and instead of leaving and finding [09:20] another place on the planet you decide [09:21] you're going to destroy it lock up all [09:23] of the native people the people who [09:25] actually built the country that you're [09:26] living in and gave you the pave roads [09:28] the indoor plumbing the air conditioning [09:31] all of that stuff you're going to like [09:32] literally land on those people and [09:34] Destroy them it's unbelievable but if [09:37] you're quiet that's how it's [09:40] done that's exactly right that's how it [09:42] done they didn't get to this place [09:44] overnight they got to this place because [09:47] they allowed the wrong people to be [09:50] elected in positions of governance and [09:52] and while they have all of the issues [09:54] that they cultural issues that they have [09:56] in the society it really rolls back into [09:59] the people that they've allowed uh to be [10:01] elected as the people who are going to [10:03] govern them and many of those people are [10:05] are you know native you know people from [10:08] the UK or people from France or people [10:09] from whatever country but they've [10:12] allowed people who don't hold the same [10:14] uh values the same morals the same [10:17] ideologies as them they've allowed [10:18] people who don't hold those to be the [10:21] ones that are elected in turn and now [10:22] when they want to speak up they're going [10:24] oh the people that don't believe the [10:26] same thing I I do want to lock me up [10:28] well how do you think we got there you [10:29] didn't get involved in the process you [10:31] weren't you were sleeping at the wheel [10:34] when you thought everything was really [10:35] good and now all of a sudden [10:36] everything's really bad and you don't [10:38] have a voice anymore it's too [10:42] late and then it's too late because the [10:45] people the the poor man who was uh he's [10:47] in prison for 18 months in Great Britain [10:50] for social media posts they actually let [10:52] a rapist go to make room for him in the [10:54] prison they're going to release people [10:56] on early release people who are in jail [10:59] for crimes actual crimes so they can put [11:02] people in jail who have posted [11:03] inconvenient things on X I I mean I wish [11:06] this was some kind of freaky madeup [11:07] story and that I'd have to come back [11:09] later and apologize but this is [11:12] real yeah and look we talked how start [11:15] off about what's in England but it's [11:17] real over here too as well you know [11:19] they're they're they're knocking on the [11:21] doors of people who you know spoke up at [11:24] Schoolboard meetings if you spoke up at [11:26] a Schoolboard meeting you suddenly [11:27] became uh on an F bi watch list if you [11:30] are a pro-life person that happened to [11:33] post about pro-life things next thing [11:35] you know you've got federal agents [11:36] knocking on your door uh the number of [11:38] Catholics out there that have been [11:40] harassed by the government the number of [11:42] evangelicals who are pro-life that have [11:45] been harassed by the government and then [11:47] you have the government colluding here [11:49] uh with major media organizations [11:52] mainstream media and social media to say [11:55] uh those people don't get to have a [11:56] voice those people don't get to have a [11:58] voice those people don't get to have a [11:59] voice you only need to have the voices [12:01] that say the things that we agree with [12:02] so it's not look it's on our doorstep [12:04] it's not it's not like we can look at [12:06] this and go it's over in England it's [12:08] here now and and if we don't do [12:10] something it's only going to get worse [12:12] it's not going to get better on its own [12:14] and by on our doorstep we're talking [12:16] about kamla Harris and uh uh this vice [12:21] presidential candidate Waltz who they [12:22] don't believe in free speech they [12:24] believe that free speech is when you say [12:26] Democrats are beautiful Tim Walt has [12:28] sparkly eyes twinkly eyes I'm sorry and [12:31] he's cuddly um that's free speech if you [12:33] say Tim Waltz wants to destroy the [12:35] energy industry by Banning fracking and [12:37] they also want to force you to drive a [12:39] toy car that's run on batteries that are [12:40] made by child labor in China and and on [12:43] the continent of Africa that's not free [12:45] speech that's something that could get [12:46] you you know you get a warning the first [12:48] time but then you know you sent five [12:50] tweets that day so you're going to jail [12:52] these the that's what they really [12:54] believe well I mean look at just the [12:57] policies that have been enacted we don't [12:58] you know 51 C3 so we don't support or [13:01] oppose candidates but look you look [13:02] around you at the policies that have [13:04] been put in place and and as you said [13:07] the the ideologies that that hold these [13:10] people to the policies that drive them [13:12] and they don't believe in that they this [13:14] was for the longest time the left was [13:17] the group that touted tolerance [13:20] tolerance tolerance we want everybody's [13:23] voices to be heard everybody's voices to [13:25] be heard and when the culture shifted [13:28] and they felt like it sh shifted left [13:30] now they're the bullies saying we don't [13:31] want to hear anybody's voice but ours [13:33] nobody's voice but ours is the one that [13:36] should be heard uh the rest of you guys [13:38] are dis this uh uh [13:41] disinformation you know and and and you [13:44] all need to just be quiet and for the [13:46] Christians here's the message stay in [13:49] your churches sing on Sunday and that's [13:51] it be [13:52] quiet and it's that stay in your [13:54] churches sing on Sunday that enable the [13:57] Nazis to destroy you know 16 million [14:01] lives the the they were in church [14:03] singing as the trains were going by with [14:06] the Jews on them they were headed to the [14:08] concentration and the Christians were in [14:09] church singing and it was Bon Hofer who [14:12] lost his life for trying to stop what [14:14] was going on but had he had those 2,500 [14:18] churches I think it was who were later [14:21] eliminated but they were silent during [14:23] the rise of the Nazis and Hitler had [14:25] they simply spoken up when they had the [14:26] chance before Hitler had his foothold we [14:29] wouldn't even have this story to talk [14:30] about we wouldn't because it couldn't [14:32] have gone on if that many people had [14:34] risen up but instead they did what you [14:36] just describ Troy they went into their [14:38] churches and they sang as loudly as they [14:40] could so they couldn't hear the screams [14:42] of the people who were being carried off [14:44] unbelievably here we are again I I know [14:47] we said never again but here we are [14:49] again yeah here here we are again you [14:52] know in the early church you you know [14:54] one of the first uh letters uh most [14:57] Scholars think written in the early [14:58] church church was the letter written by [15:01] uh James the brother of Christ and and [15:03] so we call it the Epistle of James and [15:05] James's letter to the early church was [15:08] was basically this message when you get [15:10] into chapter 4 in there he said he said [15:14] look faith alone Ju Just making a [15:18] proclamation of faith alone is not [15:21] faith faith put into action is real [15:25] Faith there has to be a real risk to it [15:27] and and you have to want to risk to be [15:30] involved and and look it was hard to be [15:33] a Christian back then you were going to [15:35] get you know um uh ostracized by Society [15:39] for standing up and saying I believe in [15:41] this in this Jesus of Nazareth I believe [15:44] he was the Christ I believe he died for [15:46] our sins uh you were going to get [15:48] ostracized by by the society but James [15:50] says look put your faith into action do [15:52] something about it stand up for Christ [15:54] do something them live under under this [15:57] environment are you going to let them [15:58] live in this kind of a a thing or are [16:00] you going to get involved in [16:01] Christianity you look at the history of [16:02] it Stacy Christianity has constantly [16:05] changed every society every culture it's [16:08] been in involved in for the good it's [16:10] brought education it's brought medicine [16:12] it's brought welfare it's it's brought [16:14] uh uh morality into every society and [16:18] yet for some reason the church in [16:20] America wants to sit back and say uh I'm [16:24] afraid that I'll be labeled a Christian [16:26] nationalist or I'm afraid that I'll be [16:28] labed by my family for talking about [16:30] politics or I'll be shamed uh for doing [16:33] this so I'll go ahead and let all these [16:36] bad things on because I I don't really [16:38] have the nerve to stand up and really do [16:41] something for my [16:43] faith well you know um we should be [16:47] tired of that by now if if ever there [16:49] was a time to take that tiredness out of [16:51] us it was going through covid and the [16:54] lockdowns and our opportunity at this [16:57] point is to save it off to stand up [16:59] against it and you do a great job of [17:01] that leading your organizational [17:03] National Religious broadcasters and I am
